I mean I get it, he's talking in totality.

Also, if anyone had any doubts that they didn't love Mittelstadt by now, welp.. they love Mittelstadt.

And for once, that's ok. Just something to think about when you're setting up trade props.

- TheSabresTaco

Funny I have done a lot of different trade scenarios, I can't remember ever using Mitts in one recently.

The long winded answer to say he will be used as a mentor.
- washedup20

For a 1 year deal. That is fine

Look at anderson …. Granato basically said he was a coach and ran meetings.

I don’t expect to that extent for Johnson. But mentoring is important

You keep saying 1 year deal and its ok or not an issue - it makes no sense, and you don't provide any reasoning other than...its just 1 year.

The Sabres are using NHL roster spots for essentially coaches, why?

The sad part is Johnson is an upgrade from last seasons d corps, from that perspective its ok. That's not the standard management should be accepting...it could be that's their only options due to the bad stigma attached to the organization, which if so requires a more aggressive approach to solve.

First look at Benson he seems to skate really well

Not sure I thought I seen some stuff about that being a weak point for him

Anyone have or have the ability to get tix for Bills Training Camp? Looking for 6 tix for Sunday 7/30 practice. If you have tix and want to make some money, please PM me. Thanks!

>>> I hear some of the stuff about our goaltending and you look at some of that stuff, it’s not unnatural to be worried about this. Every other team is worried about it. At the end of the day, you know, our approach to it and my approach is, ‘Stick with the guys.’ We know these young guys are going to have situations and grow from it.

So the kids shouldn’t have any leadership to look up to or learn from??

Peterka, Quinn, Krebs, samuelsson, etc. they are 1 year into their NHL careers.

They aren’t 5-6 year NHL vets.

Leadership and changing the organization mojo was huge and you are brushing it over like it didn’t matter

You must have missed the 1st few months after Eichel was traded. Those were some dark times for the team.

Culture and a good lockeroom is important.

Ask the Bills. They shipped out anyone who didn’t want to be there and rebuilt everyone from the studs and up. Darius. Watkins a left tackle who I am forgetting and etc.

(If you bring up the diggs stuff. That is literally media garbage )

Creating a good team environment is huge. Bills free agents see it and can feel it.

Usually what follows is ….. winning.

Both go hand in hand

Winning = culture.

If the bills were not winning, free agents would not want to come here, regardless of how culture driven McDermott is end of story.
End.

Isn't that what Girgensons and Okposo were brought back because of leadership. How much leadership is needed and does that trump trying for better Hockey players.

Your silly, vibes draw everyone to Buffalo, that's why players are still saying No to the Sabres. Winning means nothing

One year ago, we heard that they only have 1 year left, so it wasn't a problem. Now, we're hearing the same thing. What happens a year from now?

Hearing #LGRW will place Filip Zadina on unconditional waivers at 12 noon ET today for purposes of mutual contract termination.

Zadina is foregoing the $4.56 million remaining on his deal, seeking a fresh start elsewhere. Huge courage to bet on himself.

You really think Max Domi wants to sit in the 4th line and get no PP time?

Or duchene. (Who was linked to only the stars.) You think he wants to chill on the Sabres 3rd line and have a limited role?

Good luck with that idea

What do they have anything to do with this, and Domi wouldn't be on the 4th line.

Perry would've been a better option as a leader in that locker room - his winning career and edge he bring to the game would be worth over paying for.

I never said the youth doesn't need mentorship but the approval to use roster spots for coaching/support roles is bad when there are voids in the roster that could be filled using those spots.

Culture is important, it doesn't take this long to implement it. The Eichel drama was self-inflicted - no one to blame but ownership. Adams slow and cautious climb out of that dark era is what is the most likely reason you and I, along with many on here are at an impasse on the future direction of the organization.

You said yesterday you trust Adams process, which hasn't worked yet, but more power to you. He has yet to field a balanced roster and the holes each season remain constant.

A football locker room and a hockey locker room are vastly different so while looking into how the Bills turned it around (drafted an elite quarterback and developed him properly) is not my concern on fixing the Sabres.

Seems odd. Wasn’t he a top 10 pick?

Let’s throw him in Quinn’s spot till January. See if Donnie can whisper life into him?

Well…you said it once three years ago. You’re not allowed to change your mind as circumstances change. Stop crying, here’s a tissue.
