They don't suck. Is it a good use of 13m? You seem to be dodging from every angle you can think of.
and I do think they made veteran leadership at the bottom of roster a priority - Lunaion
Jost at his $ is fine. The others arent. is that money spent on them on a one year deal preventing them from making other moves to make the playoffs? no. Is the bottom six a big part in why they will or wont make the playoffs? no.
And is veteran leadership for absolutely no term commitment really a bad idea?
I mean this whole thing stems from the idea that they could have efficiently spent 13 million dollars in Free agency, an area best known for being an inefficient blender that sinks teams, to sign bottom six players that would have made significant improvements.

That veteran leadership has never led us to shat, ever! Yet, they’ve collectively collected enough money from us to buy the city of Lockport - lulags
To be fair I think I've got that in an old glass gallon Frank's jug of just pennies, nickels, and dimes. |

Again, most of the one year bottom six options are basically this. They are either defense only, or faceoff guys. Anyone who has even half of the attributes you listed is going to be playing significantly more minutes, making more money and with term.
If I thought his deal was preventing them from making other moves, like in net, id be upset. But it shouldn't - Michael Ghofrani
Hathaway signed for 2yrs at 2.3m avv, I would take him over both those plugs on are 4th line. |

For me, it seems that they are almost frozen in fear of stepping out beyond their comfort zone when trading for or signing any players, and falling into only what they're familiar with. |

My thing is i dont think that many FAs actually will want to sign here on team friendly deals for the bottom six until they get in. The bulk of their work should be through trades.

I'm talking about the entire roster, not just the bottom 6 forwards. |

Maybe, I think eventually he'll have no choice. Either he's going to do it or they'll have to find someone who will. |

Which have been far and few between.
Something has to give I would think.
Unless Calgary and Winnipeg are going to lose everyone for nothing in 12 months which is bad business.

I'm pretty sure Vegas and Florida are very, very happy with the very big trades they've made. |

Cgy will trade Hanifin at some point, ditto OTT and Debrincat.
I suspect WPG will keep Hellebuyck for the year though. They can't rebuild, ownership is 100% against that. |

This is why the “patience” approach can sometimes backfire
Teams change course all the time for a myriad of reasons.
There’s always 4-5 bigger games everyone expects to move that never actually move. You sometimes are left holding the proverbial bag of poop. |

Its a risk, and if it backfires its definitely on Adams. But I will begrudgingly wait until September before I quit on them |

A lot of missed opportunities. Dedicating 3 of 12 spots to Jost, Okposo, Girgensons without seeing what was available first was a new GM mistake. We owe them nothing. Your job is to improve the team, Period. That’s my opinion. - lulags
Jost for what his role was last year was good for what he did.
As for okposo ….. and even girgensons. I can’t stand them. (Very well known me here) But they aren’t the problem.
They are on 1 year deal that don’t hurt the team long term.
If you are so wise. Who is playing on the Sabres 4th line? Since you know everything |
