If we're discussing this guy dropping to line 3, then just trade him.

We are on the same page

The best rangers lineup right now imo

Laf Zib Kakko
Panarin Chytil Vesey (maybe wheeler, but his D deficiencies may not fit with them)
Kreider Trocheck Wheeler
Goodrow Bones Pitlick

The kid line together lost a lot of luster for me vs NJ. I don’t think those 3 need to be together permanently anymore

I don't hate that line up. Actually, really think the idea of Kreids on the 3rd line and 1PP is best. But, I think it's just as likely they give another try to converting Laf to RW. We NEED him to be there if there's any hope of giving Othmann and Cuylle a chance in the next couple seasons.

Hes not exactly a 5v5 machine. If he were to play 3rd line he’d still get pp and pk time

Yea agreed. Kreider and Trocheck are/were very good together. He’s supplanted on PP1, Kreider

Have learned that Tarasenko had multiple offers from clubs ranging from contenders to rebuilds in the $5.5-to-$6M per category at varying lengths. Rejected all—Carolina was one—and then fired agent. Kind of strange. (Had wanted to remain with Rangers but there was simply no space

Won't open behind my company firewall, but I assume you're referring to Kreider?
Unorthodox for sure, but I think I agree with those saying his game wouldn't suffer too much from 3rd line play + top PP minutes. If it unlocks Laf enough that his scoring increases more than Kreider's drops, we benefit.

Sorry, idk why that is blocked for you. But yeah it's Kreider @ 93% WAR. I like you idea best. Move Laf to RW. Get him to be a shooter on his off wing.

It's my company firewall, for sure. I don't see a lot of images on this site.
Laf on RW is really the easiest and best solution. But, you can't just wish a player into a top 6 calibre NHL player on their off-wing. It's gonna be a challenge for him.

That's true. But he's still a 20 + goal guy at ES. Like Tony said the Answer would to move Laf to RW. Will the Rangers do that? (I'm doubtful)

Kreider and Trocheck would be a good shutdown pair at forward.

If we get Key and Laf signed for a combined $6m or less, which doesn’t seem possible, we could give Tarasenko $4m after trading Goodrow AND only carrying 22 players

Let's be fair. They tried it and it didn't work too well. But, I think they are painted even further into a corner than before. It has to be given an extended chance to succeed because the benefits would be greater than any other strategy available right now.

Laf was not bad at RW. GG did not give it much time, which he always was guilty of, and the team just had no structure

Kreider-Zib-Kakko
Panarin-Chytil-Vlad
Cuylle-Trocheck-Laf
Vesey-Bonino-Pitlick

Trade Goodrow. Jet send Wheeler, Unfortunately this keeps Laf out of top 6, but it keeps 3 scoring lines intact. (also 20-93-24 had great advanced metrics last year in limited time together.)

I’d be fine with that. But like Tony said, not sure he’s comfy there.
