You left out Descendents. They were the reason bands like Blink and Greenday even became something.
I love how so many helped to evolve into the next gen.

I think Petry was about as expected. He was pretty solid, almost reminds me of the criticism Paul Martin always got because of unreasonable expectations.

I really liked McCann, Tanev & Matheson. McCann is the one they really screwed the pooch with. I loved Tanev also but he's not putting up 40 goals. Ironic thing with Matheson is he would probably be the perfect partner for Petry.

- MacPatty

I think the expectations or at least hope was the previous year was an off year and Petry wasn't declining. Unfortunately looks like he is. He's still a solid player, but not what he was IMO.

He's a 4'ish mill'er not a 6.25 mill'er.

I think, if he did stick around, its entirely possible he has an even better season with the Pens this coming season, though. If he stayed healthy, that is.

I'd rather EK.

Agree on all counts. I don't really have a problem with him coming back. He and Pettersson played pretty well together. And I've got some concerns about adding another aging player with an injury history.

But screw it, go get EK.

Nirvana is possibly the mst overrated band ever. So many better grunge band options. I still listen to a lot of 90s and you forget how good it was.

Lot of it was pretty dark too.

Foo fighters. Have like 5 or 6 great songs and a bunch of bla.

- sammy87

When I mentioned Foo Fighters I was mostly talking about their early songs. I haven't followed them since forever. Everlong is a great song. There are a few good songs like Monkey Wrench, My Hero, Times like these and Learn to Fly. Let's be fair with Mr.Grohl lol

I dont mind the Foo Fighters...like their earlier stuff, like the first 2 or 3 albums, better. I think the first album is the only one I can listen to start to finish and enjoy all the songs....been a really f'n long time since I listened to it....might later today.

Nirvana still sounds fresh to me, even today. I hardly ever listen to them at all but when I do, its still fresh sounding. Its just pure unbridled raw emotions with a 3 piece conduit to get it out. Grohl was the only great musician of the three but they were much bigger than the sum of their parts (which is what I'm also hoping for the Penguins this coming season). Also, the production of their albums were just so....big...sounding. Just a raw massive sound. Love the tone and sound of Grohl's drums on those albums.

- MattStrat

Absolutely. As I said Nirvana was my favorite as a teenager but I got mad once Kurt Cobain killed himself honestly.

Faith no More is not talked about a lot but is a nice band.

So many good bands...

You wanna say a band suck, call out Nickelback or Creed lol

Everyone is double/triple checking their math before they agree to a complicated 3 way deal.
- Feds91Stammer

Agreed. Three-ways can be...complicated.

Foo Fighters were a good band. They weren't gnere defining or anything, just good and a fun concert.

I would definitely give Zadina a shot on a 1 year deal. His ask can't be high.

I've heard that Barenaked Ladies are fantastic live. Not my thing but people have said they're just really, really fun.

It's not going to be the Pens getting him. A current year Norris trophy winning right handed 100+ point defensemen becoming available might be one of the rarest things ever in the NHL with regards to player movement. Personally, I think the 3rd team helping broker the deal is trying to get more and more for doing so, and playing a bidding game with other teams to see the best they can get. I think its possible you have the two youngest GM's in the league bumping heads over this. The last two sentences here are pure speculation by me but not that far fetched, really.
