Gonna be Granlund, POJ, Rutta, and a 1st
Graves - Letang
Petts - EK
Smith - Petry - Feds91Stammer
If the Pens get off that easy....damn. Only losing a 3rd pair D and a draft pick that is pretty much an empty asset for this team. Then dumping two cap problems. Sign me up for that.

Nah. I've been pretty vocal about thinking it wont hahah. Seems fantastical to me. - MattStrat
Everyone said they were close last Saturday. I'd have to think if Dubas really thought he was out of the running other moves would have been made already. I think we are in the thick of it and have a legit shot. |

I do not trust Kingerski. It also feels unnecessary with the Graves signing and Pettersson still here. POJ or Smith would be a much cheaper 3rd pair option and wouldn't cost us anything. *If they would be willing to trade Carlo though, I'd be down. |

Hard to have a more unreliable duo than Murphy and Kingerski |

Since we're in waiting mode... what if we put all our chips into a different basket?
In other words, if we assume Petry would be fine as the 2nd pair RD, is there a realistic forward out there that would be worth going "all-in" on instead of Karlsson? |

Definitely not all in, but if the Pens are looking for "hockey trades" I'd see what Calgary is doing with Backlund. Yah, he makes us even older, but he is a quality defensive center who would kill it in a 3rd line role here. |

A forward more worth it to go for than Karlsson would have to either be an old super star or a younger star. Said player would need to have the leverage either via an NTC or expiring deal where they’re refusing to sign with potential teams in order to force their way to us because any package we put together can likely be beat.
The closest to realistic that meets all of these criteria is Nylander and I haven’t heard a lick of him trying to force his way to Pitt, so no I don’t think such a forward exists. |

Agree, a LD makes no sense right now. |

Fair. Debrincat would be another example.
I was thinking along the lines of that proposed Konecny trade actually. Use some of our assets to bring in a young 30 goal scorer, dump a bad contract, and still have assets and cap space to spare for additional moves. Take a flier on Zadina. Maybe even add Tarasenko. It wouldnt prevent us from re-upping Guentzel like Karlsson almost surely would.
Petry isn't that bad that we need to replace him. |

I also think Lindholm from Calgary could be realistic based on the rumors of him possibly not resigning there. Not a “superstar” but definitely a welcomed addition to any team at a reasonable cap hit |

Earlier one of the Pittsburgh radio guys tweeted 2 firsts, POJ and Granlund to a third team. No mention of salary retention or who the third team is. And then the tweet was deleted. So take that with a grain of salt. |

That was Fillipponi. He isn't an insider and is known around here for always being completely wrong with his predictions and opinions. I wouldn't take anything he says seriously. |
