There were a lot of teammates who started they were not involved with the activities in question. McLeod said he couldn’t comment further than his statement and that he was cooperating. So they are not the same response. Details matter. - Queenie_5_hole
Yeah its strange. I had to double check to make sure, but if these articles are correct then 17 of the 21 players on that team either made a personal statement or their agency made a statement denying their involvement. McLeod, Katchouk, and Batherson only said that they were cooperating with the investigation, but didnt comment further. Formenton was the only player to not comment at all.
Maybe we can read into that, maybe not. But we also know that there is a photo out there of McLeod, Formenton, Katchouk, and someone else in a hotel room together that night(it was on McLeod's instagram but he deleted it soon after the investigation became public). I know a lot of the people who are saying/assuming he's guilty is because of that picture. But i wont go that far, thats just unfair to him. |

He didn’t say he wasn’t involved. He did not make a statement of innocence. Which doesn’t mean he’s violates but it’s a material difference in how he responded. Details matter. - Queenie_5_hole
I am deeply troubled by reports of this incident and should my help be requested by those investigating this matter, I will fully cooperate in any way I can.” — Victor Mete
I look forward to cooperating with the NHL investigation as well as any other investigation if appropriate and as required.” — Robert Thomas
The allegations are deeply troubling, and I am cooperating with investigators to help as much as I can.” — Maxime Comtois

Why only post one of their comments instead of all of them? Lol. All 3 of those players denied involvement lol.
Comtois: "I am aware of the allegations of sexual abuse made against some of my former teammates on the Canadian world junior hockey team. The allegations are deeply troubling, and I am co-operating with investigators to help as much as I can. I was not involved in any way with the alleged abuse, and, as far as I know, no one has ever suggested otherwise. Out of respect for the investigation, I do not intend to offer further comment,"
Thomas: " I had no involvement in, nor did I witness, the alleged incident. I look forward to co-operating with the NHL investigation as well as any other investigation if appropriate and as required. I will not be making any further public comments at this time,"
Mete: " I believe it is important for me to state that I was not present at the gala event celebration when this appalling event occurred. At the time, I was away on vacation with family and friends in Jamaica and only learned of the situation recently through media reports."
There was only a few players that did not deny involvement. The only players i havent found one from are McLeod, Batherson, Formenton, Katchouk, and Hart. Everybody else has a statement denying they were involved. |

They might be fake news in that you don’t believe their statements or that the statements aren’t accurate. Supposedly 8 people were involved and only four didn’t specifically deny involvement. So perhaps 4 guys claiming to be uninvolved were involved. Or perhaps the claim that 8 players were involved isn’t true. Regardless, we don’t know until the report comes out. |

The concern for me, this specific instance aside, is the information that has come out against hockey canada overall. Not one, not two but three different slush funds to settle assault claims. Why 3 separate funds? So different people had access to different streams of $$? Not including this event, they have already paid out 21 other victims. Thats not just 1 bad egg, thats systemic. So i am glad they turned over the board as a good first step but whats next? whats step 2? And nothing was really going to happen until advertisers like tim hortons said they were not going to spend ad $$ with hockey canada until things changed. only then was it that some things started to occur. the report will be very interesting as there are some big names on that list. regardless of outcome, hockey canada has to change. i just cant get over the need for 3 funds and millions already paid out.

For sure. That's why I keep saying it's pointless to speculate one way or the other until the report comes out and we get the facts. It's gotta be sometime in the near future I'd imagine. |

Never said to keep him if he’s found guilty. Not sure where that came from. - jtylerm
He comes off as a “guilty until found guiltily no matter the verdict” type of person |

If this is what it takes to stop Lindy from putting him out to "win" faceoffs every stoppage I'm all for it. |

The real question isn’t about McLeod anyway. It’s a question if Chris Tierney is better than Jesper Boqvist! |

Nope, he's not. He's not really good at anything lol. He's pure depth and not someone you want playing more than like 15-20 games. He'll help Utica more than he helps NJ. |
