Why didn’t the Sabres just have the prospect challenge this week or the previous week after rookie camp?
Make July a mini hockey month
And this way, if a prospect (for every team) gets hurt, they have time to heal before camp - Sabretooth9
It's probably not allowed.
Not sure if playing games in July, with nothing before or after, makes much sense. Giving the kids a head start on camp makes a lot of sense. NFL camps for rookies started today.

If they did it in July college kids could potentially attend
How about this, put your starting lineup out for the start of the season with who we have right now. And then we shall see who's the closes when the season actually starts. So here's mine:
Skinner Tallness Tuch
Mitts Cozens Greenway
Kulich Krebs JJ
Girgensons Jost Rousek/Okposo
Dahlin Clifton
Power Johnson
Samuelsson Joker/Lyubushkin

The NCAA has very strict rules that make it impractical. Teams can't even cover their full expenses for development camp. Increased risk of injury would be a big problem.

Gets sticky if 89 is right and they carry 3 G. - Lunaion
I think Comrie gets waived easily. The AHL guy they picked up is at least as qualified as UPL or Comrie. Plus they know they'll look like a gongshow if they carry 3 to start the season.
Well I say that but if Comrie outperforms UPL in the preseason it'll be fascinating to see if they have the stones to waive UPL

The overreactions in camp will be funny this year.
Wonder how they split things up. Anderson got the country club treatment and Comrie got kicked it the nuts last year. Who gets the easy home games this time around?

I disagree with giving them a heads start. I would want as much time as possible to do offseason training.
That’s an extra week or 2 missing out.
(Working out “in season” is not the same as summer training)
