said it before, will say it again
the team has to work to get fans in the 20-30 year old range
since they were 6 to 15 this team flat out sucked
money is tight
tickets are more now vs 15 years ago
the old assumption, win and the fans will come back, well first they have to put a product on the ice to make these younger casual hockey watchers turn into fans - homiedclown
I hear ya. Im in that range.
The organization sucks at marketing... The whole NHL does (apart from a couple teams) but this org is even worse

assuming tage, dahlin, tuch, skinner score like they did
over 60 power play goals
the 2 new d men can perform
team stays healthy
scoring stays up
bryson does not see the ice
etc
etc
etc
this team could just as easily slide to 10th in the east this season - homiedclown
Right now I'm saying 88 points 10th in the east |

I see them in the 86 to 89 range as well
98 points needed to get in
we all can disagree on if this team is going to make the playoffs or not but clearly the bold move or 2 to compete for the cup has not happened so far this summer, and we lost quinn for a good chunk of the year |

Petro notes at this point, the county, which has an arena lease with the Sabres that expires in 2025, is "not planning to put any funding toward renovations at the arena.” Peter Anderson, the spokesperson for Erie County Exec. Mark Poloncarz, said, “Under the current lease, it is the responsibility of the team owner to do that.”

does the county profit from the gabriel, nicks, shania, or aerosmith concert coming soon to the keybank center?
someone is making money off the parking, 20-30 dollar drinks, etc
I mean venues require 20 percent of concert shirt sales are kicked back to the arena |

5. Buffalo Sabres
The Buffalo Sabres are a team facing possible NHL relocation mostly because of the small market they’re in. The NFL’s Buffalo Bills have had a history of being in discussions for relocating, and the former team the Buffalo Brave played in the city for eight seasons before relocating in 1978.
At the end of the 2022-23 season the Sabres missed the playoffs for the 12th consecutive season. Having the longest playoff drought in NHL history isn’t going to help the Sabres’ chances of staying in the city and questionable draft selections has just made things worse.
While Buffalo still remains a hockey town a popular city for NHL relocation is nearby Hamilton in Southern Ontario. The Sabres are the third least valuable franchise making NHL relocation an attractive option for owners.

"First-year head coach Phil Housley, the D-whisperer, has learned the hard way that things aren’t so easy when your lineup is filled with Redmond, Tennyson, Viktor Antipin and Josh Gorges instead of Mattias Ekholm, Roman Josi, Ryan Ellis and P.K. Subban."

The saving grace is that I think Terry knows the secret to getting a new venue paid for is on field success.
