Oh look, some cute graphs found online that have zero context. As a mathematician I will give you a little lesson on how stats can be misused to fool people. First of all, you need to ask where this data came from? What country, what area of said country, which hospital(s)? Also ask, how did they determine vaccinated vs non-vaccinated? Most health units did not count anyone vaccinated if they received the vax within 2-4 weeks. So when the health units raided old age homes and vaccinated everyone, if any got covid in the next 2-4 weeks, that was recorded as non-vaccinated. Hmmm... I wonder if the jab had any influence on them getting the virus? hmmm... but we will record all these cases as non-vaccinated.

Oh look, a simpleton who can't figure out how URLs work.
These are the official Ontario numbers.
Published under the watch of the Ford Conservative government.
Also, look at the label on the vertical axis. The numbers are per 1 million persons. So the numbers themselves are meaningless as there could have only been 5 people in hospital "with" Covid. But they use a multiplier to make it parts per 1 million. Thus exaggerating the total actual numbers. And again, they counted those in hospital regardless if it was Covid that brought them into the hospital. You broke your arm, they will test you at the door. Bam, you now count as having Covid and in the hospital. Also look at the last graph, the scale is completely different from the first two graphs to exaggerate the differences. This is called skewing the graph.
Anyhow, I am done trying to convince the unconvincible. My suggestion is to start using your own observations(it is called critical thinking). I don't know a single non-vaccinated person that had to go to the hospital because of Covid. I did know some already vaccinated people though and one who ended up dying unfortunately.
The jabs were a failure. And many people got fooled into taking them. I have friends now who regret taking them. I do not know a single person who regrets not getting them. I made the right choice. I also don't have to worry about any future side effects. I don't have heart issues that so many vaccinated people have experienced.
Bottom line is, make your choice and mind your own damn business what other peoples choice was. There is not a single person on this planet that can argue I made the wrong choice.
Can the refs on here just start banning the clowns that keep bringing up this topic please?!!! - rSole
Oh, the incredible irony.
Does a "mathematician" think that anecdotal evidence of a few friends is better than a government body tracking the health outcomes of 15 million people?
But no, I get it. You've "done your research" and you are smarter than the scientific and medical communities.
What ever helps you sleep in your dreary, sad, pathetic life.

Agree not a fit there. Getting a 90 -100 point RW entering the prime of his career does not make sense for a rebuilding team that is paying $5.2M for garbage like Kevin Hayes and DeAngelo to not play for them. - winsix
Agreed, it would be foolish to trade a 40 goal point per game player AND a young defenseman on a budget deal for a soon to be 30 year old when his new overpriced contract kicks in.

I would interpret the quiet coming the Leafs as meaning they have pretty well decided on how this is going to unfold. Maybe the next few moves are a lot less complicated than some are trying to make it out to be. |

I'd do this trade, but will Philly really extend Styles for $70 over 7 years?
Would he also agree to go to Philly?
but yeah I'd do it, the trade that is. - dmnted
Only in Toronto would willie get 10m, thanks to dubas overpaying marner and matthews. But the Tree wont pay that.
Any other team in the league, its probably 8.7 to 9.5m per.
I dont see any team paying him 10m per.

A team shouldn't, but there are markets that probably would have to. There are markets that have to overpay to attract their talent - Winnipeg and Arizona come immediately to mind - one for the bitter winter, and the other for the bitter atmosphere. To some extent Alberta has similar problems, but so would Ottawa as all three cities can get pretty horrible in winter. Then you have the cities which might need to overpay to attract talent because of where they are in their rebuild - Chicago and Anaheim come to mind, and because Chicago just landed Bedard, it might not even be the case.
But some of those markets might take a player's market value and have to inflate it to attract the player.
If you have $10m to spare, is Nylander the guy you plop down the cash for? Based on available names, he might be one of the better options around coming into UFA next year. His only direct competition would be Aho and I highly suspect Carolina resigns him. $10m for Willy is more of an act of desperation, but it's also a reflection of the escalating cap. If he puts up 40 goals again this year, he probably crosses that $10m threshold.
