Yeah I don't think there is a deal to be made with the Islanders, for a multitude of reasons

I agree. If it's true the Islanders did not want to give up a #1 for Cat, why give up for Nylander?

Thats why it's got to be a 3 or 4 team trade.
Nylander to NYI
Karlsson to Tor
JGP and Walstrom and picks prospects to SJ
Barrie and other cap dumps from Tor to wherever.
Plus whatever else the Sharks want from Tor

Pageau and Wahlstrom still doesn't clear the necessary space. Neither does the two of them plus demoting/trading Johnston also. That still leaves them just short of $500k over the cap.

Also, Tyson Barrie plays for Nashville. He hasn't been in Toronto in four seasons

Way too many moving parts

Brodie. I meant Brodie. Thanks for correcting me. I know it's a lot of parts but it's the only way it would happen. I mean other teams involved.

They have to be actually hurt for that.

And sending Johnston to the minors wouldn't get them enough cap space, even after trading Pageau/Wahlstrom

They could trade Pageau/Wahlstrom, bury Johnston in the minors, and then have to bury Kuhlman in the minors. Then they'd have to pick if they wanted to carry an extra defenseman or an extra forward because they wouldn't have the cap space for two extra guys. They could recall Johnston if they sent the other spare player down and they'd have $134 in cap space (Going off what CapFriendly says)

If we take out one or both of clutterbuck’s knees that would also be a big help.

I think you are referring to someone saying that the cap is not an issue. I cannot tell a lie. It was niteislander.

If Ho-Sang was 10 years older Lou might try to talk him out of retirement.

Sad news about Ho Sang’s incredible career being cut way too short. Such great talent wasted.

He's considering retirement. Maybe he can become a coach.
