Thank You NHL for such exciting offseasons. They barely last a day.

We’re Islander fans. Our excitement revolves mostly around resigning players. I learned to lower my expectations a long time ago. |

Pretty much Cpt. Giving out 7-year contracts like candy does not help the league as well. |

I have a question. How do the Leafs have the ability to keep signing people? There are only so many people you place on LTIR. |

I would say a lot more interesting. Even if Karrlson puts up 70 points it will have a huge impact. With Letang already there the pp will probably be elite. If they can stay healthy they will more then likely be a contender. Their biggest issue is goaltending imo. I don’t think Jarry is a good goaltender. Defending and goaltending will be their negative but I believe there’s a very good chance the offensive output may overcome whatever defensive shortcomings they have. - Cptmjl
It appears that Dubas (who didn’t see himself GMing anywhere but Toronto) has the same problem he had with the leafs. He’s all PP with average goaltending and D. Didn’t work out for him in Toronto, and I think he’s gonna have a similar issue in Pitt. Too top heavy

Possibly. Pittsburgh plays a better team defense though. The last couple of seasons they play a tight checking game. Their man to man coverage is pretty good. Jarry I think sucks so yeah maybe my initial thoughts of granting them “contender” status was a bit premature but I still see it as a possibility. |

A lot more experience and poise on this team than Toronto though, that counts for something |

Yep. Between Malkin, Crosby, and Letang and whoever else has won cups on that team. I’m sure some of those guys are realistically looking at this as their chance this season. |

Absolutely, it’s huge. But I just think the lack of goaltending and D are too much of a liability to hoist it. |

Wayne can judge talent talent and he probably understands the Islanders have not done a good job surrounding Barzal with talent. Hopefully Bo is a good match for Barzal going forward. |

Wayne Gretzky compiled a record of 193 wins and 186 losses in his coaching career with the Phoenix Coyotes
I do not know. I think the jury is still out on that one. |
