I think this also fundamentally changed TK’s legacy in Pitt through no fault of his own. If we had let Kennedy walk and signed Jagr, Kennedy’s probably a cult hero in Pitt but instead our last memory of him is that of a pretty frustrating limited player making too much money that we resigned instead of bringing back Jagr.

Oh I don't blame TK at all, I enjoyed his time here. That's straight up Sheros fault. But I also don't hate Shero because he made a lot of really good damn moves haha. His biggest blunders were not firing Bylsma and not getting Jagr here, the Doug Murray trade. Those are probably my top 3. He made too many good moves for hate haha.

Yeah I’m thinking out outside-the-box ways to free cap. Adding rust with Petry might force SJ to eat more salary. Buyout Granlund, and we could bring in Taterz and someone else. Trade deSmith and Ruhwedel for Conner garland.

Few things from a recent article with EK in Sweden. He's spoken with Pittsburgh, Carolina, Toronto, Seattle, and a "few others" as well. He said he doens't have a top priority. Just wants to go to a good team and try to win. Mentioned speaking with Dubas and his close friendship with Spezza.

Also said he won't be going back to SJ.

Penguins can offer like 2 prospects and Granlund. Only reason SJ takes Granlund is as a NHL player cap dump. He's able to suit up regularly and play in the NHL, SJ doesn't have contender in the next couple years so why would they care about taking this contract back? It's like 2 years?

I don’t see why granlund is so hard to move, he still put up 40 points last year. A bottom feeder could put him on their top 2 lines and he would prob play decently. Acquire him from pittsburgh for a 7th and could prob flip him at the deadline for maybe a 3rd or 4th. Still a net improvement.
