Counter point: if EK wasn’t ok with going to the Canes the Canes would be out of it by now and not still negotiating.
- Victoro311

True but I haven't heard anything from them since the rumored deal they offered.

If Vancouver is willing to do Garland for Granlund you take it and run no question about it. That’s why I doubt they’d do it.

Non hockey post:

Finally found a place that had four roses small batch.

I could obviously look it up but might find a simpler answer here, what’s with the ‘small bath’? Is it just easier to do different stuff with (barrel age, flavor, etc)? Or is it literally they didn’t make a lot of this type? Or both

- Brownsoldier

Four Rose's and Old Forester are great cheap options.

We don’t have a 3C anyways so no worse for wear. Nylander is not a 3C if that’s what you’re thinking.
- Victoro311

I knew that. He can bump rust to the 3rd which would help. That bottom 6 lol idk.

Eller will be fine. Last season he had a revolving door of linemates on a struggling injury riddled team. Not going to wow you but can definitely be a solid center to a competent 3rd line.

We'll hopefully we can give him a couple decent wingers haha

Kyle Dubas’s grandmother has a twitter account and honestly it’s super sweet. She’s just a huge fan of Kyle’s. Currently favoriting a bunch of EK to Pity stuff

Hahaha that's awesome. Probably Eklunds main source on this one 😂

Whenever you buy whiskey that isn't "single barrel" then it's made by blending the whiskey from many different barrels to get a consistent flavor for the release. A "small batch" release blends a small number of barrels, which typically means they can be more selective in which barrels to use.

Single barrel whiskey will have a wildly varying taste barrel to barrel, even if they were distilled from the same mash and aged in the same warehouse.

Ahh. Thank you. I think I’m starting to learn something on these boards. Weird.

Small batch is typically going to be cheaper than a single barrel which is then going to be cheaper than a barrel proof.

4 roses small batch is good but their single barrel is realllly good. But on the other hand their limited edition small batch is incredible.

I got really lucky yesterday at my Winn Dixie around the corner. Scored 2 bottles of Eagle Rare for $32 and a bottle of EH Taylor small batch for $41. Went in for milk for my morning lattes but popped my head into the liquor store and got lucky.

I think a couple “rumors” had DOC as a trade piece. Can’t remember how legitimate they were though

I've just seen speculation by a Shark's blogger that DOC or Poulin might be good low cost sweeteners to target.

Just realizing what a missed opportunity it was that nobody created a fake account for GMRH's granny that just pooped on all of his moves and constantly flamed him. @grannyHextall could've been a huge hit.

I was reading about the Toronto samsonov contract, and it stated that for Toronto to buy someone out (MM) he has to have a salary of $4m and be on the roster before the trade deadline… so I’m guessing that would apply to a pens buyout too, making it not possible to buyout granlund at the last minute?

I think it’s be on the roster before the 3pm deadline which he technically was.

Lol yeah they're under 30 and clearly don't fit the direction of this team.

I wouldn't want to trade DOC unless it's the only way to make the deal. And ai think you'd sell low on Poulin trading him now

hahaha

I mean, I like DOC but at 25 years old already I'm not sure we're going to see much more out of him than we already have...and what we have already seen isnt enough for me to be stuck on wanting to keep him.

DOC isnt doing much to change the program. He's a fine 4th liner and ok 3rd liner on a mediocre team. All he will ever be.

He'll never be a pillar of the team, but we need young players and someone on the bottom six to breakout. Maybe he can't, but like to try a good run of him on third line before just throwing him in a trade. Definitely throw some blame for Sully for not giving him a better opportunity.

But he's not in danger of being the next McCann
