If getting rid of him was a priority and the reason why Tavares was signed, why did Dubas wait another season to do it?

I looked for a photo similar to this with Tavares but was unable to find one.

I was happy that Kadri won the cup in a year were he did not get suspended.
See what could've happened with the Leafs if he did not get those suspensions.

Its amazing that all those years he was hated by all on here..Everyone on here said he was a liability and couldn't control himself....But he was a saint when he left..

As far as JT goes, I would say at least 20 teams would of tried to sign him including Sakic.

So you run along little (frank)stick dont let the Leaf hate get to you..

Actually, JT is one of the biggest problems in Toronto. Nevermind Matthews and Marner more interested in scrapping the dress code and complaining about video game curfew, or the overall lack of grit on the team...I firmly believe that Tavares is one of the worst captains to ever wear the C. He is a good player for sure, but I can't name a single team captain in any sport that is less inspirational, less motivated, and less of a true leader than JT. He is the very definition of boring, he is "meh"...and I believe this is the leading cause of this team not giving 100% and mailing it in on most nights. No one is accountable because there is no leadership on the Leafs. Getting a proper team captain is long overdue in Toronto.

Its to the point now where i just want it over with. it would make for fun hockey in pgh and i would be thankful to ditch the petry and granlund contracts. but i would be just as happy if the pens just traded petry to chicago for a bag of pucks and bought granlund out. chicago is closer to petry's family and they only have 4 defensemen on their roster. maybe something happens there w/o the sharks.

i just cant figure out why the sharks think they have all this leverage and from what the rumors are, carolina has a better offer. sharks have 12 forwards, 8 D and 2 goalies with $5M in cap space. freeing up $11.5M by losing EK65 makes sense, esp if they get both pesce and jarvis. they would get back $6.5M in cap if they didnt retain any salary. but that # doesnt work for carolina. Canes only have $2M in cap space so they cant take on another $6M. Not sure how long svechnikov will be out but he is on IR right now (but makes 7.75M). minimally, the sharks (or a 3rd team) have to take salary.

Dumping Nylander to acquire Karlsson makes no sense.
- BINGO!

If the Leafs think they can't re-sign Nylander and they can get the Sharks to retain on EK, it makes some sense.

Personally, I'd rather pluck Pesce from your team as he's exactly what the Leafs need, but what do I know? 🤷

If the Leafs are intent on spending on defensive help, I'd rather they do a trade for Hellybuck. Better than what we have. And, really, Karlsson is not what we need. Wouldn't say no to him, but I feel we get better bang for buck with Hellybuck
