when you have the worst +/- for any forward in the NHL over the last 3 years
it's so much more than a small dip - homiedclown
1/10 compete when he's playing well. A 0/10 when he's not.
Just a small dip.

And I don't think Buffalo would be interested in extending him at $8+ million/year - turbo044
same.
I love the rental idea. I don't like the ext idea. Sabres have more than enough future pieces and can easily use UPL to improve any position.
Finding an annual backup for Levi will become easier over time. |

we got a first and a third and stewart
, carrier and halak
flipped halak for neuvirth - homiedclown
Miller is one of the best comps and he was 10 years ago.
I can't see Hellebuyck getting much more than that.
Most teams know he's a rental and aren't willing to ante up to the ask.. my guess. Guess WPG would rather ride him to the TDL |

if adams got a big time 22 minute rd to play with dahlin and a fixture on the second line to play with cozens and casey, maybe
I do not see this team needing a rental given the blah moves this summer
team is trying to get 7th or 8th in the east, not win a cup this season |

I know he's been mostly healthy throughout his career but there is a risk there |

for forward i think they're allowing their prospects to fight for the quinn and olofsson roles.
for defense, idk wtf they're thinking. they're taking a quantity approach, and at the very least, pushing out their worst guys. i mean, fine.
having faith in a rookie (phenom?) and a bum is not logical in goal. |

what's the bigger risk? trading him for peanuts before the season starts, or trying to sign him in-season and trading him for apples at the tdl/or re-signing him? Or like you mentioned, a double or nothing approach.

-In his conversation with the coaches, Olofsson says they told him he needs to be more consistent, and he needs to get his compete level up a little bit.
"Sometimes it’s really good, and sometimes I have a small dip."
That says it all. His compete level is never good and he thinks it's just a small dip when he's playing poorly. - Lunaion
His compete level is average when it's 'good'. He is, and will always be, awful in transition, forechecking and backchecking.
His entire game is 'get to the slot'. That's it. Be more useful, maybe you'll play.

nothing to see
season ticket holder told us 22 times that he is ready to take quinn's spot and is getting better 5 on 5 |

I don't think it ever comes close to average. |

It's hard to know without knowing what the peanut offers are right now versus the apple offers later
Side note - Halak and Elliott both had terrific numbers the year the Blues traded for Miller.

i kinda get it, there are some here who are furious at the notion, which is fine. Do the Sabres need Hellebuyck to make the playoffs? I don't know, but I'm sure it doesn't hurt.
Do they need Hellebuyck and Pesce? Do they also need Tatar? Do the 3 of them get the Sabres over the line? Or is what is here right now get them over the line as is?
I'm pro-acquisition to be clear. But I also wonder if what they have is enough.

Well the Sabres could make a very enticing package and Arizona won't be doing much for a few years anyway. We could help there future while we help ourselves for the now and down the road. - Buff36

You can have this all with a trade with CGY: Markstom, Hanifin (or, if you prefer RHD, Tanev, Backlund). a lot of NMC's to circumvent |

I saw the Keller thing. Weird Buffalo and Arizona have talked big trades since ROR was traded to St. Louis. But never have pulled the trigger on any. |
