Its more that there were some specific players they were interested in because of their upside.
They're pretty hot to find their own version of verhaege. They were probably interested in Sprong. - Michael Ghofrani
Sprong, as in the guy that signed with Detroit for all of $2M on a one year deal? |

$6M in cap space right now, but it is really less as they have $3.6M estimated in performance bonuses from players like Power and Levi, so it's basically money in, money out now for any moves they make. - kingcong39
so he can't weaponize the cap space, got it

I dont actually know, just an educated guess.
Acciari is another good guess. |

I think it's possible/likely that he settled for Jost after failing to land another F.
I don't get Tokarski + Cooley if you are planning to waive a G. Kind of expect 3G atm. Would put some pressure on to move a D. - Lunaion
I think he wanted depth in goal, especially if there's even a remote chance Comrie is claimed when sent to Rochester. Jacksonville can be destination for the Tokarski's of the world too |

I still think he'll try and unload Oloffson, even if it's for a 4th or 5th. Joker, I think would have some value. You trade those two, that's 7.25 million in additional space. If you can trade Boosh instead of Joker the total is 7.5m. Sending Bryson and Comrie Down to Rochester I believe saves a little. So if my math is correct:
6.0m Cap space today
-3.6m Potential bonuses
7.3m Oloffson and Joker Trade
1.0m?? A guess at cap savings sending Comrie and Bryson down
10.7m New cap amount, plenty for a Tatar and Dumba or a goalie trade, etc. |

How about their own version of average goaltending first?
This team drives me nuts. |

There's some decent banter as always but that topic is like 25% of the show and basically centers around whether Terry would make $600m or $800m on a sale.
They both rip on Jeff Skinner for 10 mins which... ok |

I listen to them semi-regularly and frankly the only good episodes are when Vanek, JR, or a guest are with them.
I couldn't care less what Peters has to say 95% of the time, and Rivet is stuck in 2005 with his hockey takes.
They occasionally have some merit to what they say, but it's pretty clear they have grudges with the Sabres/game in general.

No forward Reserves? I think they give Savoie and Rousek every chance to make the team and go:
(14) Tage, Skin, Tuch, Coz, Casey, JJ, Oloff, greenway, krebs, girgs, Jost, Okposo, Rousek, Savoie. If Oloff is traded, maybe a Tatar type is brought in
(7) Dahls, Sam, Power, Clifton, Johnson, Joker, Stillman (Boosh traded, Bryson demoted)
(2) Levi, UPL (Comrie demoted)
I don't think there's a chance in the world they go with 3 goalies, KA basically said that himself in his interview. |

Savoie is definitely going back to the WHL. Rousek maybe. I dont think theyll have a choice with the three goalies.
Theyre not going to sign tokarski to be a back up in Roch, and theyre not sending Comrie down to be the backup there either.
Most of the tweener forwards are not waiver eligible yet so if theres a major injury they can call one of those guys up. If its a minor injury they'll probably go 11/7 |

Basically, either something needs to happen around the league that might allow Adams to open a Door to something. Or Adams decides to to set the market with a calculated move that gets other things moving possibly. |

We'll disagree on Comrie - I think, barring an injury, he's the starter in Rochester with Tokarski backup. If Comrie is claimed, no big deal.
Savoie, you're probably correct. He'll play the 9 games, spacing them out, sit out a little while, do a conditioning stint in Rochester, play the world juniors in December then finish off his season in Juniors followed by Rochester. If he lights it up in Buffalo, things could change but I honestly think Benson is more NHL ready than Savoie at this point. |

Not sure how you get teams to take those cap hits without bringing any money back. There is very little cap/budget left across the league.

They 100% wont do this. The Shane Wright thing isnt an actual plan, it's mismanagement.
Having him play an inconsistent 9 game trial where they have to shelter him does nothing for his development.
Everyone hates the CHL, but its still the best development league in the world and its not close. He'll go back, tear it up with benson, and then I guess join rochester, although its likely his team is pretty good this year in the W.
I also think part of the reason they wont send Comrie down is they dont know what to expect from Luukkonen. If it goes sideways, youll want the other goalie here. |

450 thousand reasons.
They paid for quality depth, would imagine they want to use it.

If they do this, it would essentially prove they don't fully believe in UPL and still decided to do nothing. Those optics are pretty bad |

I think it more proves that they're not high on UPL, but couldn't do anything about it right now.
Distinction without a difference perhaps but I don't believe this was the day 1 plan. |
