What is the genesis of this btw? I see it a lot here but was it like an actual quote or something? - Michael Ghofrani
Last summer the team didn't make any meaningful moves and the general response from those who support/supported the patient building approach was that the team was still too young, but that 2023/24 was the proper time to get somewhat aggressive. |

As Broads says, the summer of no excuses sure has a lot of excuses - Hank Balling
I don’t think there are any excuses, I am just waiting for September to lose my lid instead of every day of July and August.
It’s wasted energy, at least in my opinion. |

We're discussing the plausible concept that the Sabres may carry 3 goaltenders due to their indecisiveness/prospect frugality.
I would love to be discussing the new acquisition of goalie X but that hasn't materialized |

Hey, let's try something different and actually set the standard. Call Tampa and see what it would take for Cernak or call Vegas and see about Theodore. Sabres have the assets, make them really think about it. Sabres could make a offer hard to refuse, especially in Tampa's position. |

We wish Don all the best but we feel we have to go in a different direction. We're very excited about what Ryan Johnson, Jiri Kulich and Matt Savoie will bring to the team. |

Not saying I would want this in the slightest, but banking your hopes on a Levi/UPL/Comrie tandem to me is quite ballsy.
I still think a move is coming once the Team Canada investigation and arbitration’s are finalized in early August |

Ahh okay its what i figured. I think its a fair criticism tbh. I think there's a chance he's miscalculated how safe his job really is and maybe thats why the excuses (from his view point).
Like I believe ownership and Adams thinks it safe but, part of that is driven by the increased revenue, a large chunk of that came from my age group and thats the miscalculation.
Homie said it a little while ago, but this team has had a tough go reaching the early to mid 20s group. They got to some of them end of last year, and they think that money is going to be there consistently.
There's a ton of research from multiple disciplines that suggests thats a terrible bet to make. We have no attention span, no emotional attachment (most of us barely remember the deep run) and low on cash.
That money is going to disappear very quickly if this team is 11-13-2 to start the year.
And someone is going to have to fry if that goes on for the full season. |

Don Granato will be the one to pay for Adams's inactivity imo.
He's tossing a Granato a goalie grenade with the pin pulled. |

I think this is where the discussion gets interesting. Because hes generally more well liked than Adams. |

It's not a tandem if 3 people are involved. Tandem is two, and if Adams doesn't know which two are good and instead has to massage the roster to compensate for uncertainty and hold 3, that's the opposite of balls. That's juggling balls |

which is why I am shocked they did not promote Peca to an assistant with the big club

80 Points? You're funny clown
1. Our defense is better
2. Our offense is the same, Quinn injury, I get it, but Tage and Tuch were injured for significant time last year and the kids should only get better.
3. Goaltending simply can't get worse, and Levi might be the real deal.
4. The Offseason still has 2+ months left in it.
80 points is crazy, even from the negative clown

I dont think they wanted the specter of Peca looming behind Granato. The fans would be clamoring to make him HC by Halloween if things don't start well.
They want a nice, patient season with no expectations. No one wants Matt Ellis as HC |

team stayed healthy last season
top 5 scoring team
career years for many guys
puck luck when their way many times on the road
6k had a winning record, you all say he sucks
zero chance any of this goes in the other direction, you are right |
