Duchene has done the goal scoring thing better than Tarasenko the past couple of years. - Swedish_Jesus
They’re pretty close but Canada tax vs Texas tax and a low payroll vs. a high payroll, a cup contender vs. a cap floor team, an alcoholic vs. a guy who has a blood stream made of alcohol.
Idk. Most contracts don’t make sense.
Tarasenko for 1 year, 5 mil and clearly has to have a banner year to get a deal on the other side next year 🤔 - lulags
We have a Tarasenko. His name is Victor olofsson.
No thank you. Big name but old and slow

Yeah not really as you don't know the injuries to come this year. Still backing those out, I think this is the best roster of the Beane era. - turbo044
rb's as a group is the best in 5 years
same for wr and te
o line may be the best since the early 90s
secondary should be their best of all time

Surprised Tarasenko got more than Duchene or Bertuzzi on a one year deal.
But all in all a good bet by Ottawa.
Don’t think he moves the needle as much as some will speculate he does, but knowing Dorion I thought forsure he would give him term.
Even a broken clock like Dorion can make a decent bet once in a while - Swedish_Jesus

Hines reworked his contract this offseason, agreeing to a two-year, $9 million deal, and was scheduled to make $2.56 million this season but his off-the-field injury makes the contract voidable.

Yep - I think they’re banking on the DL freeing up the MLB and/or using a hybrid d where Rapp is playing more than a MLB

Tarasenko isn’t that guy anymore either though.
Fills a depth scoring role at this point.

he had 82 points in 75 games in 21-22, not 17-18
olofsson is the worst forward plus minus in the entire NHL over the last 3 years
if you want to say taraskenko's game is on the decline, fine, perhaps, probably
but to compare his play on ice to olofsson is kind of like saying tage or eichel is like e-rod or girgens

That was the other poster.
All I was saying is that the 40 goal All-Star is long gone.
At this point he’s a complementary trigger man.

I think tarasenko could have fit nicely here with mittelstadt on 3rd line matchups when Quinn returns
Go get Tatar who fits nicely as a two way middle 6 winger or wtf
