He absolutely is c'mon now.
Like yeah thoroughly underwhelming acquisition relative to what we'd want but it's not remotely close.
Better question is if Johnson is an upgrade over Lyubushkin. - Michael Ghofrani
1. KA paid 5/6 money for a potential 4 guy.
2. CLifton's stats were very good when playing top line minutes last year (McEvoy's injury) and middle minutes before the Orlov trade. He faded when playing bottom pair minutes.
3. Clifton seem to play very well when he has doesn't have to drive a line, and plays with a superior partner. Power is a superior player.
4. Good calculated gamble by KA: Clifton is a RHD, brings a little toughness and was signed cheap. He can't be worse than Joker, Boosh, stillman, Bryson.

trade ostlund because savoie is in the ahl
savoie is not playing for rochester this year
trade leinonen, a 19 year old goalie, because we have comrie and 6k signed for this season and the sabres like some college goalie that plays for arizona state that they may sign at some point down the road
piss poor article - homiedclown
Like I said don't agree with some of the stuff said, but I could see them moving 1 of them. |

in the 4 games the sabres allowed 31 goals to the pred, bruins, bruins and stars
bush was -1
I bet adams sits on his hands and donnie rotates joker, bush and clifton in and out for those 2 spots
they all want to be here

Not the end of the world if he continues to bolster the forward roster. We still are weak on bottom 6 and could use a

We know there’s a bit of a waiting game going on with the GM’s but Tatar is a real upgrade and a Top 4 D does not seem realistic at this point unless we over pay for him. |

Well I will say with the Defense they have given themselves a bunch that can skate, well Johnson isn't what he used to be. But he can still handle 16-17min a night. The big ? is how many can Clifton handle consistently without taking away from the parts of his game that attracted you to him in the 1st place. They have 3 constant minute munchers when healthy in Dahlin Power Samuelsson. Those 3 will have to make up the minutes until they know if Clifton can handle 19-20min every game. |

it's a wait and see approach
no sense of urgency to make them a cup contender this year
if the guys that want to be here fall short of the playoffs, oh well

He’s very good….
They replaced Clifton with Shattenkirk who was thrown a cheap deal cause that’s practically all they can afford.

Other than Orlov, who was prime fillet on the free agent market ?
The prime fillet may be on the trade market but it’s an absolute grid Lock right now |

you have 50 million prospects
you can literally overpay to get players that gm's would never think of trading
we settle for
girgens
okposo
jost
erik johnson
and clifton
throw in 2 ahl goalies, 3 if you count houser
tage, skinner, and tuch could perhaps be our best line since mogilny, lafontaine and player x for scoring
cozens coming into his prime
2 number 1 picks overall on d coming into their prime
literally wasting the years of tage, tuch, skinner and dahlin
sitting on his a$$ and wasting the years
you guys are happy we may get 7th or 8th
you should be pissed he is keeping the bar low
I am pissed you guys are settling right now as I expected more from you guys |

Well a few said No, so the Vibes are strong in Buffalo but not out around the league as much. Buffalo seems to be building something good here and the hockey world is starting to notice it. But you also have to look like you are trying to go for it with what you do, not only Drafting wise, but how you attack FA. Players notice when you aren't willing to make a move or 2 to improve your team. Players want to see if your willing to do what it takes to make those final tweaks to get over the hump. At this point Adams really hasn't done that. |

Samuelssons injury history worries me in the scenario, but surly Clifton is capable of handling an extra few minutes a game if he gets hurt |

Agree. This is/was a prime year to make a move, especially with many top guys settle it for 1 year deals. Could have added 2 big names on short term deals and positioned our selves as legitimate contenders. Roster as it sits is marginally better, which puts us at fringe wildcard |
