Von signing has been a flop so far (injured and fat cap hit)
Diggs, Poyer, Hyde are all one year away from being washed.
Allen, Dawkins, Tre White, Rousseau/Espensea, Ed Oliver, Milano, Edmunds (at least while he was there), Gabe Davis, Dawson Knox (and now Dalton Kincaid) Cook/Singletary all drafted. - Swedish_Jesus
What the actual (frank) are you talking about flop?
The Bills were the best pass rush team in the league before he got hurt. He had 8 sacks in 11 games.
The signing was a smashing success until he got hurt. That's unfortunate, not a flop. A flop would be trading a thousand first round picks for a QB that everyone on his previous team hated and that had fewer TD passes than bathrooms in his house until like December. Or making Nate Hackett your head coach. |

Can the Leafs afford the Samsonov award? He would be a good splitter for Levi |

You miss the whole point. We are getting tremendous value with Tuch and the Sabres act like they have all the time in the world. If we don't make the playoffs by the time Tuch is a year away from FA. Adams has totally failed. - Buff36
If we don’t make the playoffs this year,
It’s a total failure that can only be blamed on GMKA IMO |

So you’re forced to sign? They can opt to walk on him too |

I don't think he was awarded enough for them to walk away. |

3.55 on a 4.9 ask, with a 2.5 offer from the Laughfs. Just not sure what kind of cap jail they may find them selves in. That extra million could be big |

Only the Bills were giving Von 6 years, that’s why he signed there.
We’ll see how the next 5 seasons go, lord knows you won’t be able to realistically cut him for another 3 of those years without a huge dead cap hit.

It's basically a 3yr deal with 3 void years. The extra years were put in so they could move Cap around if they chose to. |

They can't, they are like 11mill over the cap. They will have to make a few moves. I would take Murray of there Hands for say there 2024 1st and Timmins and they can have Lyubushkin back. Saves them about 4.5mill on there cap. |

So it's a flop in three years?
Ok
But then, any move that doesn't immediately bring a SB or a Cup is a flop, unless you're drafting, then you can wait 15 years and it's totally fine. Great consistency you have there. |

You can walk from 1 year awards, greater than 4.5m.
The catch with 2 year rewards is that you can only walk from the 2nd year. |

We already know his football takes are the worst all time so why bother |

All things considered, with the Quinn injury I would say we are lucky to have Olofsson still on the roster.
Quinn might have a setback, take a few months to get back up to speed and with the type of injury, he might never be the same.
Let it play out and trade Olofsson at the TDL to a team desperate for scoring help.
I could see him go to a team like Pittsburgh or Washington, maybe even Dallas or Vegas. |
