4th in my estimation..
4,37,7 top 3 - dozerD10
I'd go 4, 77, 7, 37.
Bourque played much longer for the Bruins than Espo, and the number of records he holds is insane.

Line shuffling to start the year is going to be epic. Guess Monty is going to get more practice at it. - dothedougie
Hate it when they overuse this. Feels like he did that in playoffs, right?

I would entertain an argument for Espo.. but that is about it.

Esposito had 1000+ points in 625 games for the Bruins, he was Gretzky before Gretzky. He also won two Hart Trophies, five Art Ross Trophies and two Pearson’s.
Bourque is 11th ALL-TIME in NHL scoring and the highest scoring defenseman in NHL history, not to mention those five Norris Trophies.
And of course, Bobby Orr. |

58 year old Flyers fan coming in peace. First off, congrats to Patrice B on his amazing career. But don’t let recency bias cloud your rankings of him amongst the all time greatest Bruins. Bourque was an 18 time 1st or 2nd team all star and won 5 Norris trophies. He absolutely should be ranked ahead of Bergeron, ainec.
My top 5 would be:
1. Bobby Orr
2. Ray Bourque
3. Eddie Shore
4. Phil Esposito
5. Patrice Bergeron

yeah. Hopefully he has more success with it to start the season.
Zacha in the top 6 is fine with me. Coyle on the other hand I dont think can hack being a top 6 forward. The year Krejci took off they tried it, wasnt exactly a smash hit. He does his best work as 3C. |

Congrats to Patrice Bergeron for an amazing career, definitively HOF worthy.
Je te souhaite une belle retraite Patrice! |

Really sad to see him go. Thought he definitely had more left but his body took a lot and it’s his call. One of top bruins all time no doubt probably top 3.
This changes the debrusk situation in my opinion. If they could get a real 1 or 2 center they might do it. Mark S. from the Jets although he is a little older or Lindholm from Calgary something to think about. Center position is so important and while they have some good players no top 2 centers in my view. Kreci would help. |

Love watching old bruins games when they come on the NHL network. Bourque flung EVERYTHING at the net in the offensive zone. Probably how he got a good portion of his assists. Fling it at the net, hope for a rebound and have your forwards crash the net.
Cool stat to bring up. |

Loved watching Bourque dominate the accuracy competition during the skills showdowns. He could really pick off those targets.

Poor glove. The timing of all that was kinda bad and perfect all at the same time.
But one thing he was right about for sure, Boston is now moving on from the Bergy era. Its sad to think about because I wont get to watch him play again (except for maybe an alumni game).
Annnnnd back to drinking. Hope everyone is having a great summer! |
