What a great time to renew my mortgage.

Really wish I would’ve locked in for 5 years instead of 3.

- bryant

It’s a crapshoot. I’d go short term or variable right now because the rates are likely to drop in the future.

I was building a house in the early eighties and ran out of money so I went to the bank for a loan. Using my car as collateral I borrowed 10 grand on a 5 year term, at a rate of 24 percent. That was the lowest rate at the time.

Fun fact: Ryan Chyzowski is the son of Dave Chyzowski, the 2nd overall pick in the 1989 NHL draft.

Everyone remembers 1989 as the year the Leafs had three 1st round picks: Scott Thornton, Rob Pearson, Steve Bancroft (all from the Belleville Bulls).

But Dave Chyzowski was picked 2nd overall by the Islanders, and played only 126 games in the NHL over 6 seasons (1 season with the Blackhawks), amassing only 15 goals and 16 assists.

But let's talk about the Leafs having terrible picks that year.

Sigh.

- Atomic Wedgie

No one cares about the islanders.
And the leafs missed out on some really good players.

I do kinda giggle when people are freaking out that their new mortgage is 5.5%.

Like, you know that's still historically low, right?

Yes I suppose, I’m not from Ontario or BC. To be honest if I was a young person and home ownership was important to me I’d probably move to edmonton.
