I see the world through human eyes
I speak human language, tell human lies
The forest is alive
with cures for human cancer
Human consciousness
a spark divine
Read the thin pages
by candlelight
Human body, human brain
Deep inside we’re all the same
We’re animals with different names
Straining at the leash
Someone shouted “Mutual Aid!”
Someone shouted “it’s time I get paid!”
We’re living for the living
Or dying to make bank
Human body, human brain
Deep inside we’re all the same
We’re animals with different names
Straining at the leash
I see the world from the center
Landscape and wonder
No human exception
Spinning atoms
Pets and poisons
Cures for cancer
Dancing spiders
A panther howls in the night!

How in the (frank) are these equal values? |

LMFAO!
So in order for Leafs to acquire Pageau and Whalstrom, not only do they have to give up Nylander and Liljegren but also move a round down (from 2nd to 3rd round) in order to do so?!
Let's analyze that...Leafs give up 46Goals, 59 Assists (104pts) and +34 for 20 Goals, 36 assists (56pts) and -6 plus have to give up a draft round...
I mean, how could the Leafs say no to this - No brainer!!!

Here is a sad truth, no one gives a (frank) about the NY Islanders....however, for good or bad, the Leafs are talked about by every fan base, constantly.
Yes, Leafs are relevant and Islanders are not.

It would take more than Pageau and Wahlstrom and a 3rd to get just Nylander. |

So we are talking about relevant in popularity aspect and not being a winning organization. |

Leafs and Isles both over the cap. Not sure how this works for either team. - mames11
HA!
We’re slightly over the cap.
Leafs have to dump the equivalent of Conor McDavids contract and then some.
You need a dance partner in the worst way.
We would still have to trade Mayfield and bring up an AHLer to make Willy fit.
Leafs would also still need to clear more $$$ with what we’re offering back. |

I find it amusing that leaf’s fans expect equal compensation for nylander when every nhl team knows they need to shed a ton of cap if they want to keep Matthew’s in Toronto. |

Let me guess. You looked up cap space on CapFriendly and saw that Toronto is $12M over the cap. Do you understand LTIR rules? Is that you Ek? |

I feel sorry for Canadians that they have to hold onto the hope that the Leafs will become a true contender. The hockey media is as bad as CNN, MSNBC and Fox when it comes to the fair-weather treatment of an organization that has all the resources and players willing to wear the sweater and despite all that, they’re a more bad-luck team than the NY Mets. Relevant or not, the Leafs are way more disappointing than any team in pro sports. Perennial failures. Relevant losers. |

Winning games, Leafs have no issues.
Winning a championship, Leafs do have issues with...along with most other teams in the NHL - Islanders included.

Lol.
The amount of people that build their lives around hating the Leafs can tell you how relevant this team is |

This comment just goes to show you how bad it will be for some people when the Leafs win...whenever that may be. If you have a narrative in your head that this team is cursed and is incapable of winning you are 100% wrong. Bad juju like that does not exist, and you are likely just saying this as a form to protect yourself from the thought that there will come a time when this team wins, and it will bother the (frank) out of you.
And don't feel bad for us, the Leafs have good players and they give us good entertainment. At least the current team.
Which is all this sport is. If anyone thinks its more than that then I'd recommend a hobby. |

Really, you don't need to feel bad for Canadians, especially considering you are an American! LMFAO
As for the media, most Leaf fans don't give a crap about the hockey media. If anything, we find it amusing.
Leafs are without a doubt the most relevant and important team in the NHL - you are just too dimwitted to know it. |

It's pretty comical how much other fan bases know about the Leafs, their cap situation, their prospect pool, their coaches, etc..etc..etc and then claim how irrelevant the Leafs are. Like other fan bases would have a fraction of knowledge about their teams as they do the Leafs. |

No one cares about the Leafs either. Other fans are just amazed and offended by their delusional fans, so they're baited into responding. That's what makes them seem "relevant".
As for the actual content, I'm impressed by this site's persistence on this rumor. Usually it's a one or two and done, and move on to the next one. But the "Nylander to the Isles" thing is probably onto post #5 or 6 or so by now. |
