also, I went to see the cap friendly for the canes and not sure about that 7.7 to Orlov...

I mean he a 30 pts guy... then on the other hand De Angelo will put 55 pts a 1,6, great deal if he learning to tone it down in the locker room

they could be a good traiding partner with all their D going UFA next year

Sounds about right.

I predict a hot start, then the usual xmas debacle with horrible trip out west in february then a pile of injuries and goalie up and downs.

As long as they are competitive and show growth I can live with that.
There is still some house cleaning to do before results will be expected.

injuries can change everything

that and the sophomore jinx for most of the d

but as long as they dont fix the injury thing from the past 2 seasons, they wont compete

but if they are mostly healthy, I think they will surprise a lot of fans, even with that young defense

I expect them to have another top 10 pick next year, but I do think they will be competitive / in the playoff race a lot longer than last year (into the new year before they fade).

I hope once we shed a few more contracts next off season and the kids have this upcoming year's experience under their belt, we will see some competitive growth and a real push for the playoffs in 24-25 season (not saying they make the playoffs, but they will be in the mix til the end of the season).

Too bad Maxime Comtois is too old to be part of the Habs rebuild. 24 is really pushing it

only in Quebec that the construction industry stops for 2 weeks in July to go on vacation. Everywhere else they try to get the work done in the 6-7mths they have with no snow.

Comtois issues are related to the Team Canada investigation from what happened in 2018. Until the situation is clear, he seems to be persona non grata

Well alot of civil work still gets done the MTQ does a blitz. It's statuatory only for building construction which works all read-round. Everybody wants summer vacation and it's really hard to get anything done when you're running with half a team all summer long. You wanna do excavation? Well the backhoe operator is gone for 2 weeks, then it's the guy driving the loader, then it's the two guys in the trench. It's much easier when everybody takes the same block off and in the 3 months of summer you have your whole crew.
