I get the regular season stuff, not too worried about that.

But a simple change could be implemented: you cannot put an NHL roster on the ice during playoffs that is over the cap. You can have as much money tied into players, as long as the on ice roster is not over the cap. Solves all those problems.

Of course, that would kill trade deadline day, but whatever...

Just means more money going around the league for the players.

Look at the recent contracts in MLB, NBA, and NFL.

Make the post season like the pre-season, you can go 10% over the cap.

Well alot of civil work still gets done the MTQ does a blitz. It's statuatory only for building construction which works all read-round. Everybody wants summer vacation and it's really hard to get anything done when you're running with half a team all summer long. You wanna do excavation? Well the backhoe operator is gone for 2 weeks, then it's the guy driving the loader, then it's the two guys in the trench. It's much easier when everybody takes the same block off and in the 3 months of summer you have your whole crew.

Everyone has the day off, so they can move on that day? and like you said, better in the summer time than around Chistmass

That and its probably easier for the owners to have the lease ending the same dates.
