I think it transcends money. Kane is Terry's white whale. It's a homecoming for a formerly great American hockey icon that no one in Buffalo asked for. It's a status symbol for him in a weird way - Hank Balling
I think he's been burned so many times what with the spending that I bet they convince him to not do it.
There would be a front office shake up if they did this to, so theres that to consider. |

Was at training camp yesterdee.
1. Healthy Gabe Davis cannot be covered by any DB in the league. Gabe getting faded in fantasy drafts. Good for the thousands of others reading this.
2. Cook looks very fast and rbs getting lots of wheel and swing routes. Not that I want more rb routes. I’d rather load up on routes 15-24 yds down field. Look to be focus on TE seam routes too.
3. They ran that zig motion play that Chiefs scored consecutive tds on in SB with Harty.
4. Poyer looks as good as ever and Poona could be a huge signing. Picked Allen off on a screen.
5. No music during practice. Not sure if it had to do with campus power outage. |

Yeah but there's no way they sell enough to justify his salary. And I assume thats what Adams will tell Pegula. - Michael Ghofrani
Would he challenge him or just go along with it?

Poona picked Barkley off on the sceen pass, not Allen

You dont have to challenge him. Theyve technically improved each year under adams. If he tells him they actually wont make all that much $ off the move and it will make the team worse, he'll probably cave.
If he had a monster playoff run or whatever it might be a different discussion. But he sucked and isn't a goalie so |

Dude he had 6 points in 7 games, the team as a whole got caved
You are all delusional |

You've alluded to the bold more than once.
What do you mean?
Are you saying one or more members of the staff would quit over a Kane signing? |

Having the most expensive 4th line (which each player on said line is awful) on a fringe playoff team, not even a contender is a fireable offense, adding a hall of fame hometown forward is not.
Going into year 13 of the playoff drought with the teams hope in the hands of a rookie goalie is bad management that should result in support staff being let go.
There are no terms shared regarding signing Kane, yet the push back is wild. |

At least we have Girgensons for his 65 games and Okposo to play 18 minutes a night and for less than 10 million, what a steal! |

Be patient, if it’s September and we still haven’t made any moves then you can say something but don’t have foresight because like, you don’t know my dude |

He is in the same boat as Mathews, they have the leverage and their is no rush to extend with an organization that fails to deliver. I know he is an RFA, requesting a trade isn't out the realm of possibilities pending the results of next season.
Dahlin watched ROR leave and win the cup, watched Montour and Skunk leave and win a presidents trophy then play critical roles in a Stanely cup run. He watched Terry drag Eichel through the mud only for Eichel to win a cup post surgery.
This vibe crap works on new players and desperate players, stars want results. The only way I sign if I'm Dahlin is if the Sabres offer me a deal I can't refuse, his agent can use the overpaying of Okposo/Girgs/E Johnson as leverage. |

hate to kill the narrative but he definitely wants to be a part of this team for a long time. that long term extension will be signed.

there's always the possibility that the contractual language is still being debated. This is an extremely large contract for a non-UFA player. The rush isn't there and both sides want it to be fair.
It's also going to be, or close to be, the biggest contract the Sabres have ever given out. No doubt at AAV.

So the 8yrs $80mm rumor was garbage? What terms have you heard?
I would drag this out until Christmas if I am Dahlin.
