Patrick Kane underwent hip resurfacing surgery on Thursday and is expected to take four-to-six months to recover, his agent Pat Brisson announced, per Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman.Jun 1, 2023 - kingcong39
Adams has signed Anderson, Okposo and Johnson and the justification was/is they are player/coaches due to their on ice decline.
Kane is better than all of them, will only be out early in the season and can provide confidence/swagger for the young guys, something Okposo/Johnson can’t. The distaste for him is puzzling as he is a better offensive specialist than Girgs/Okposo are defensive specialists.
It would’ve made more sense to dump Okposo/Girgs - not sign Johnson and invested in 2/3 years of Kane/toews or Perry. Still adding him to the roster is more sensible than 95% of Adams other moves made this offseason. |

He's a winger, he needs neither great skating nor good speed. Exhibit A: (ear muffs, Boss) Sam Reinhart. poop, Tavares might be worse and he plays center.
I'm not thrilled with the idea, but with Quinn going down they need someone. Ideally he'd play like 16 minutes and whichever of the kids is playing well plays his own minutes plus a few of Kane's would-be shifts. - Wetbandit1
He won't be back to help with Quinn being out. |

Ahhh in the current nhl. You need to be able to skate and play with speed
Other wise see Victor olofsson.
Kane also sucks defensively. Like really really badly.
Easy pass |

Olofsson would thrive with Kane offensively

Going to be humorous when they give Kane the Pavelski deal circa 2019... |

Decent read!! - Buff36
How many articles will be written saying the same thing this season on the Sabres, the entire world knows their weaknesses while recognizing the potential the prospects bring.

Probably 50 more until the season starts or Adams gives them something else to write about. |

You're OK paying Kane $7M per for 3 seasons and the first two he goes for 25-25? |

An old former #1OA with a Stanley cup to his name is a great addition to the back end for intangibles but Kane shouldn’t be touched with a 10’ pole….

I don't get it
if adams did it, it was great
yet if adams is thinking about doing it to a hall of fame player but slow, it's terrible

When will he even be back for the 1st season of that to. He's not a spring chicken anymore and how much more does it affect his skating, that's been a big part of his success. Be useless if he can't keep up. |

At the same time, a four to six month rehab turns and 82-game season into a 40-60ish game one, which could mean he's fresher. Plus, the "kids" will now actually have a player who actually knows how to win meaningful games to look up to.

Well hopefully his rehab goes well, probably why they are meeting in the next month or so to see where he's at. Skating is a big part of his success and if that is affected it could really hurt his game, especially the high tempo Granato likes to play. And isn't that why they brought Johnson and Clifton in with there experience and resigned the Larry's. |

1). Correct and he’s coming off of major hip surgery, and will be out until Christmas.
2). Okposo for what he does (4th line duties) is perfectly fine. He is also a well known leader in the room and well liked. For 1 year …. It’s fine. We didn’t resign him for 2,3,4 etc. then I would’ve had a problem with the signing
So yeah happy Monday |
