Vegas finished 14th in goals scored amongst teams in the regular season this past year.
I don’t see why a team that features Tage, Skinner, Tuch, Cozens, Mitts, Peterka, Dahlin and Power can’t be a top 10 scoring team next season even if they regress. - Swedish_Jesus

The question is whether the addition of Cliffy Hockey (and presumed defensive maturity) gets them from 28th in ESGA to 16-20.
The goalies are the goalies and the team is the team.
If they're 8th in GF for but 25th in GA we're likely having this same conversation next summer of no excuses |

That’s the million dollar question.
As much as we talk about personnel, I think the coaches have to own a lot of it too.
That to me is my biggest concern, even more so then the personnel |

I agree that if the season is a failure, it will definitely be put on Don Granato. I don't agree with the logic behind that argument though. Granato is still short two proven NHL goalies and a proven top-4 D man |

Hopefully they can implement a 200ft D system where the forwards drop down and help a bit more. They have enough speed on there team to turn those possible Defensive turnovers into fast breaks going the other way. |

I dont want them to change anything about who they are. Just give me a goalie who can put up a .905 in this system over 50 games and it's playoff time |

I don't necessarily think they have to change it up that much, but better Defensive Zone coverage from the forwards could actually create more offense. |

look at Colin Miller this year with stars vs last year with sabres
maybe a lack of an nhl D scheme

That team also had Cody Eakin, Anders Bjork, John Hayden and Rasmus Asplund play over 55 games each while Will Butcher, Robert Hagg and Casey Fitzgerald played 35+
And Drake Caggiula, Larry Jankowski and Arttu Ruotsalainen (forgotten larry) played around 20 games and 5 different goalies tended net |

yet Joker's number were pretty much the same with them, vs who he had this past season which shoots that theory of yours in the foot
not a dig at you
trying to figure out if donnie even has a d scheme |

1 and done is better than not getting in, but I don't want to settle for 1 and done either.
Wide open hockey simply doesn't win in the PO's 90% of the time. |

What can you do from a management perspective to raise the teams winning percentage at home? Is increasing that alone enough to push them into the playoffs?
The 1st month the Sabres have 6 home games and only 3 away.
Winning percentage:
Home .415
Away .600

Andy Strickland on Cam and Strick today said it’s likely “5 players” will be facing NHL suspensions for their involvement in the 2018 WJC sexual assault scandal. Said he knows the names but won’t say them now.
“Some significant names” 👀

heh looks like Kale Clague was there too. Not sure he gets a contract if he was a part of this, though. Can all but guarantee the GMs of these players are aware of who's who.
