Cal Foote doesn't have a contract either.
Heard some rumblings Drake Batherson could possibly be on the list. Nothing even close to official though. |

He's one of the 6 that's been named I guess. Bean, Comtois, Clague, Fabbro, Dube and him. At least that's what Global News Canada has reported. |

I think the Sabres should put the team up in a hotel even for home games as they play better in that setting vs whatever they are doing at home. |

Longs ones too from what I understand.
But it’s the NHL and they think 5 games is a long time.
I’d would have been interesting to see what would have happened if one of the NHL stars was on the list. |

Andy Strickland on Cam and Strick today said it’s likely “5 players” will be facing NHL suspensions for their involvement in the 2018 WJC sexual assault scandal. Said he knows the names but won’t say them now.
“Some significant names” 👀

If it's true, I think they deserve jail time, but you're right. Sadly I wouldn't be interested in the latter though as they would likely brush this under the rug. |

This tells me nothing, pure click bait.
"The sexual assault allegations initially were investigated by London Police in 2018, however, the case was closed in February 2019 without any charges. The investigation was reopened in 2022.
Hockey Canada stated on Dec. 20 that their investigation has concluded and an adjunction panel would determine if any sanctions need to be imposed. They would keep the results confidential as the London Police continues with its investigation."
The article continues to read, the girl was at a bar with friends, met the boys, they all got drunk and went to the hotel to fool around.
"After the initial closing of the investigation, Hockey Canada began to receive backlash from Canada's political figures and sponsors, in addition to fans of the sport. "
This sounds like a shakedown, with politicians getting involved, etc.

Do you have a link for an article that actually names the players, because the link you shared does not do that.
The link you shared is also over a year old. |

Haven't seen any articles about names. Atleast other than Formenton the player originally involved. And I believe he's playing in Europe now. |

Believe it's a civil matter. It was resolved in court, to a point. Now it's come down to Hockey Canada essentially just paying out money to protect its players and other parties want those players to be directly accountable, which is what was demanded of HC.

the suspension is by far not the worst part of being outed as a sexual predator.

It's politicians (and sponsors) demanding direct accountability. The top HC officials were forced to resign based on protecting these players from exposure. And their general attitude to instances like this.
Legally it appears everything was done above board. HC settled the case.
I question why it's been so difficult to dig up the names of the perpetrators. Seems like simple investigative journalism to me. |

The initial case I believe was criminal but it was settled. Regardless, the case was settled with fat HC cash. The cash used to settle the case was even a dubious use of the funds. There's some information out there somewhere stating that it's essentially a general slush fund that's used on players' well being (?) but in this case was used to settle a criminal or civil case.
This is no longer about court, it's simple accountability. |
