Which is absolutely true, but for some reason the market isn’t there right now.
We can huff and puff about Adams not making the trade yet which is fine but I mean nobody else has made that deal yet either.
The exception being Detroit acquiring Debrincant who essentially forced Ottawa’s band to deal him there. - Swedish_Jesus
This was a perfect off-season to leave yourself leeway contract wise, especially with the cap room the Sabres had. Instead Adams locked up his 4th line and only left himself 1 open contract. There were and still are Teams hurting Cap wise, Adams had the chance to try and squeeze teams and possibly getting a good player by taking on a contract. Instead he squeezed himself and Know has to dump a contract himself possibly. |

Good post
Preseason should really be fun this year.
Any chance you see cozens play other then 2c?
Mitts seems locked in at 3C. - Boss34
I said it's wide open for a reason. Mitt's isn't a lock to be a C and could be just about anywhere in the lineup. He could be at any of 6 spots and none would be a shock.
Cozens might be close to a lock. Is there any scenario where he's 1C, 1RW, 2 RW, or 3C? Absolutely |

if the pens ate 2 mil for the 2 years of petry's deal and throw in the typical second round pick and prospect to take him off their hands
petry at 2 years is a much better player than clifton

Don't think we've ever seen him at RW, so I didn't go there.

That's reasonable.
My feeling : they try and force olofsson into Quinn's role.
Pp time and maybe get his trade value up a bit.
Mitts could slide in with both cozens / peterka too.
Feels like
Tage
Cozens
Mitts
To me anyways. Mitts looked solid late last year |

I think they are done caring about his trade value. Sunk cost at this point, worry about winning.

I agree with you, but Adam's isnt thinking that way IMO.
Olo would be traded by now if they weren't worried about return value.
Having olofsson score 28 more = winning |

I appreciate your post.
2 sides to every discussion.
I honestly think the quinn injury makes management more likely to hold olofsson on the roster.
Sure , I mix in some trolling too....
Didnt you hate , absolutely hate the Quinn pick? - Boss34

I did see your post after I posted mine as it appears we were both writing at the same time.
It clears up much of what seemed like in your previous post that you were 100% on the same page so far this offseason as Adams a tions to date. |

sharks got duclair for next to nothing
he would have fit perfectly on cozens wing given the quinn injury - homiedclown
Duclair is another one dimensional winger though.
He doesn’t fit the 200 foot mold that we would need. |

Sending Bryson down frees up another ~$1M.
We have roughly $7M-8M available, I don’t think he’s closed himself off of anything.

Don't think you can read that into KA's actions. No way selling at the deadline is on his mind right now.
VO cost them games last year. Really not arguable.

What do you mean, most teams can't take on another contract, Sabres really can't unless they can dump one. He can't take on a extra contract if need be to get said player. |

Sabres record Olofsson played last season:
38-32-5
81 points in 75 games...For a full 82 game season that comes out to 88.5 points
In those 38 games they won he scored in 15 of those games. In those 38 games he was a +1.
Victor Oloffson in the lineup does not equal winning. In other words, 13 goals in the 37 losses, and a minus 24 in those losses.

Let's talk this out.
I'd like to wager starts or wins for levi.
Friendly bet, but something fun. - Boss34
“ The average number of regular-season games for Cup-winning goalies since then is 44, though that includes Matt Murray playing 13 NHL games in 2016 and not the 31 games he played in the American Hockey League before winning the Cup for the first time as a late-season call up in Pittsburgh.”
https://www.nhl.com/news/...f-bound-teams/c-303785014
Let’s bet the phenom plays the Stanley cup winning average, 44.
He has to win 32 of them.
Bet total $500, with $100 deposit to stripes for good faith, individual wins pays out $250.
Let me know what you think. |

GF% (5v5)
Bryson 33%
VO 39%
Girgs 42%
Peterka 43%
Fitz 44%
Jost 44%
Even when you include the PP, he barely gets back to even.
