You really need to stop, Petry has better or as good of Defensive Numbers as Clifton but plays 4 min more a night. He's a Hitting Shot Blocking Machine. He would have been better than both D FA we signed.

Clifton is also 7 years younger and came at half the cost.

Apparently he isn’t a top 4 d-Man, but a 35 going on 36 year old Jeff Petry is the perfect partner for Power ?

I'd rather have Clifton than petry but I don't have a lot of faith that either are great partners for power. Guess we'll find out.

could have grabbed the norris trophy winner for a few blah contracts and a first round pick


joker, olofsson, comrie, and a first is probably a better return than what the sharks actually got for karlsson


and if you swapped casey for olofsson the sharks easily got a better return

Offense for sure. Overall impact for next season I think they deliver similar impact to be honest. For the cost and contract I think Clifton gives you more.

Honestly either one I think is fine. Clifton makes more sense to me if you need him for the full 3 years because Petry is in decline.

Interesting how Pettersson actually looked like a top 4 D last year. Played over 20min a night for the 1st time, had over 130 hits for the 1st time, over a 100 blocked shots. Sounds like he had a partner that gave him confidence and helped him.

Our only hope is that the cap going up 4m next season frees up this circus of a league
