Tuch is an excellent example.

They are getting max value out of his contract now, and his contract ends in 3 seasons.

They already wasted one season of high value performance.

If they are already planning for Tuch's replacement when his contract ends, to the tune of hoarding picks and prospects, then they are wasting Tuch's performance.

He is part of the core. Waiting to go for it is a waste of every season of big time performance from Tuch.
