If he's just been hunting for a bargain for 2 years, I could could see them getting really sick of his calls. - Lunaion
maybe, but maloney being at fault is equally likely. What little has been made public about him is not at all flattering. |

I think Darcy/Kyvyn would have been the perfect person to complete the teardown and start the rebuild in earnest. Adams has done a "Gaustad-for-a-first" type job on the Eichel tear down.
Now they need a chain-smoking, beer drinking Tim Murray to cast aside some prospects and get this poop cooking with gas. Murray was two years too early. Adams has waited two years too long - Hank Balling
If we could take 50% Adams 30% Botts and 20% TM to add some Balls. Might have a decent GM |

Had me in the first half lol.
I dont mind getting a GM who shoots from the hip as they say, but I need it to be one just a little smarter than Tim.
They're two sides of the same coin honestly. One guy potentially too high on his own prospects, unwilling to move unless its the perfect deal. Then the other guy, prepared to give up everything for specific players, not cause theyre good or good fits, just cause he likes them. - Michael Ghofrani
Two words:
Hudson.

Is there really a difference between KA and JB?

Tim Murray thought he was going to be an all-star version of Drew Stafford |

I dont believe for a second Kevyn Adams would look at prospect producing like Hagel at a position they are weak at and say "its a situation where, i dont need that". |

I don’t think he’s waited two years to long, the right time to go for it is now.

Yes, Botterill spent plenty of picks on absolute crap like Beaulieu, Scandella, Frolik, Vesey, Sheary, Simmonds and Wilson while Adams mostly chooses to do his crap shopping for free |

Last year was the right time.
This year is definitely the right time. |

In fairness, he didn't get re-drafted after the didn't sign him. KA might have to pass on signing some players as well, but that one looks bad in hindsight.

Was gonna go 40/40 but I think Adams has a better draft record. Botts unfortunately traded away a lot of picks because of Murray trading the whole farm system. |

The going rate for Adams was a 1st and 1st round talented prospect.
He literally said it in his press conference - Sabretooth9

KA's had the advantage of a flat cap making that a lot easier. JB also had pressure to win. I think they are the same in their development philosophy. KA hired an analytics team, so huge credit there, just wished he used them more.

difference between have to pass on some guys who arent cut out for it, and not signing a guy who produced at even strength like a fringe 1st/2nd rounder.
I was so heated when they let him go. |

Ultimately the greatest L that Botterill took was hiring the worst coach in franchise history while also hiring perhaps the 2nd worst coach in franchise history |

I think he uses them way more than we give him credit for. I think his ability to execute doesn't mean they're not listened to quite often. |

Probably doesn't have to make half those trades if Murray drafted better or didn't trade any reasonable backfill prospects. |

Adams also gets the rewards of moving reinhart, eichel and risto
Botts held firm for Tage and got Skinner, Dahlin Sameulsson and Cozens which should count for something
esp if Johnson, Casey do what we expect
Cederqvist and Rouusek still wildcards
