YES!!!! It's (frank)in ridiculous. I got a huge Shopping Center project under construction. It's going to get done and luckily we already have all transformers and switch gear already installed. PECO told the contractor that they won't have a transformer for a school project they are working on for 2 years. WTF. Before pandemic, there weren't any supply chain issues. It's like we're a 3rd world country now.

I work with an electrician who finished an apartment building job last August. All they had left was to install the switchgear when it was made available. First they were told it would be in by Thanksgiving 2022. Next thing they heard was that it will be in by Thanksgiving of this year.

The building has sat unused for over a year

It's funny because we put restrictions on certain materials coming from China and one of those materials is used in chips. Something like 87% of that material is mined in China. Other big find is in Africa and we aren't welcome there anymore.

sounds like a contract violation. percentages almost always need to be paid for completed works.

Yes for certain materials, but this one material is only found in a few places right now. The Company I used to work for actually bought a Company in Wushi so they could funnel it back to use in projects over here with other stuff we had machined over there. Amazing we used to have stuff made there and have it shipped to us knowing that it probably didn't meet specs. But it was cheaper to buy it there and then rework it in are Machine Shops.

It's really amazing how much Industry we pushed overseas and how much it's really coming back to haunt us.
