worth noting
Andrew Stoeten
@AndrewStoeten
Has a 129 wRC+ vs LHP this year and ranks 6th among SS by OAA.
overall his stats look meh
and on Teo if that happens, fill in for Springer.. who looks dead while holding a bat currently

For what it’s worth, Teoscar Hernandez has not played a game in left field this season (94 in RF, 15 in DH).
I would view him as DH/PH option and sometimes outfielder. |

Hey, I'd love it if the Jays could at least win a 7 game series for once since 94, that'd be great.

Oh huge time, huge time. It's going to be a (frank)ing HORRIBLE contract, one of the worst in baseball history.

I'm less concerned with what Moreno is - or even will be - and more concerned that his actual asset value was significantly higher than Atkins got for him. As the #7 prospect in baseball in 2022, I felt his value was more than they ultimately realized in the trade.
If I recall - and you may recall it better - when they were talking about acquiring Soto, Gurriel and Moreno were discussed as a part of a package along with Martinez and Pearson and the Jays were reluctant to part with Gurriel. Now I don't recall it that well, but I remember thinking that Gurriel shouldn't be the reason you don't acquire Juan Soto.
But for them to turn around and trade Gurriel and Moreno for Varsho just a few months later? I like what Varsho could be, but his value doesn't even remotely approximate what we gave up for him. - Monkeypunk
I dont believe the jays were really in on soto and anything out there was simply rumours |

DeJong is one of the best SS defensively (ranks 97 percentile in outs above average) has some power but low on base numbers. As good as you could do with Bo injury. |

pretty much it, they had half a day to figure it out.
Hopefulyl Bo is not out long, but a cheap fill in option. Also not sure if he can shift to 2b after Bo is back, since the Jays have been terrible at 2b

"Of the MLB shortstops who have played 100 innings this season, Paul DeJong ranks 8th with a +6 Fielding Run Value.
Bo Bichette ranks 51st out of 57 on that list.
In a market where offensive upgrades are thin, the #BlueJays land a very reliable glove. Update expected soon on Bo." |

3:11pm: Bichette has “no significant structural damage,” according to manager John Schneider, with Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reporting. According to Nicholson-Smith, an “IL stint hasn’t been ruled out but [the] Jays will play it out for a few days first.” Based on this information, it appears the Blue Jays may have dodged a serious injury to Bichette. Nonetheless, earlier today they acquired Paul DeJong from the Cardinals.
