I get what you're saying, but you need that type of dman on the 3rd pair. plus he's older than the other kids coming up. not sure you want all you dcore to be the same age. we'll see.
let just say that it's a nice problem to have. - fidopro
Yup. It also gives us some seriously nice trade bait at deadlines, too.
On the negative side, unless we start getting some real sweetheart contact deals, that core will likely also outprice itself sooner than later if they all live up to their respective billing. |

Almost like trading an old broken Petry for a younger productive Petry.
So the Petry dream is still alive for Pete. - Mashadar
Some night Petry was playing like a Norris but most of the nights like Victor Mete… |

I still dont know if they have their Hedman or Doughty just yet (there is just one Makar, forget that one), thats why their last draft pick could pay off or at least made sense
it nots always about quantity
at 5, its about quality
But for those who would like the team to focus more on drafting forwards, they went with Slaf the year before and traded for Dach and Newhook
not saying the work is done already, but thats why its a rebuild |

If it were a videogame we'd have lots of players with an overall score of high 80s but we need 1 or 2 high 90 players |

on defense or overall?
Suzuki and Caufield can lead this team on offense I would say, but I would still dare to argue that they cant score every game...
If Dach can stay healthy, I think they have their guy to centre the 2nd line. Can move back on the wing if they ever find another C or draft one early on in the draft, but he should have his chance to prove his worth.
Slaf is more like a project, but hopefully people wont call him a bust if he does not score 25 goals next season. If he can improve from last season, learn to keep his head high and all that crap, it will be a nice start |

Think Guhle and Hutson may meet those... The fact that Guhle is so steady at such a young age... If he gets better with age, like defencemen are wont to do? He's gonna be huge. |

Im a bit worried about his knees, but if he remains healthy, he should have a long career in the NHL and a good one
may end up with A on his sweater, sooner rather than later |

I like where this team is heading and look forward to the next few years. I think they might even surprise this year and do well and get a crappy pick lol |

Personally, I'm very comfortable with our pick ... we desperately needed to reinforce our right D. |

The D should be pretty fun to watch soon. Just a piece or 2 short up front |

yeah to me that need was obvious
After the 4 or 5 forwards there was a drop off in talent, at least thats what most people say
so why not draft the highest ranked defenseman at 5?
They are slowly starting to build something with the right side of D with Barron and Mailloux as well |

Sure looks promising on paper, let's hope their game translates well to the NHL level. |

Habs have the potential to have the best D corp in couple of years…
Some will be very good, some will not develop to full potential and some will most probably fail but overall there is enough material to build 3 very solid pairs…
Eventually, couple of guys will have to be sacrificed for more scoring but I am all good with that…. |

Le Gros JC is gone from 91,9 sports.
Thank god. - Scabeh
Michel Villeneuve is gloating all over that one. I'm really torned inside on who I hate the most between the two. |

I think Villeneuve is worse because he actually enjoys seeing people lose their job because he doesn't like them.
JC doesn't look like a bad guy, he's just stupid and annoying. |
