keep in mind there are 80 home game s opposed to 40. that makes a diff. phils draw well over 20k every year since the new park opened. Wow can't believe it is coming up on 20 years!!!
by the way that was a huge loss last night. That is gonna come back to bite them.
Just using the present time it is just flat way to fn expensive to go to a sporting event. between ticket, food, beer, parking 500 bucks or so. Now if you dont drink or eat much then it is lower.
My kids take uber to go to events. What's parking like 30-40 ? Last year a Pats game was 50/60 bucks (dont remember what exactly) to fn park!!!! - hello it's me 2050
We park for free at Chickie And Petes and take the free shuttle to the game. And they pick you up after the game.

I understand the sentiment. But when he signed it gave him the 52nd highest cap hit in the league. Overpaid for sure, but IMO not paid like a star per se. Just paid like a top of the lineup guy, which even at the signing he was not. - MBFlyerfan
This was a product of Dave Scott pushing the agenda that the Flyers needed to be competitive for fans. His mantra was they Flyer fans deserve a competitive team. Idiot!! |

Yep, its insane. Plus you go in and get a few beers first at $4 a pop (as opposed to $16 at the game) get a good buzz on, then go back and have a few more after the game.

Yeah, I saw the attendance numbers at the end of last season and they were quite impressive. I think the Flyers were ranked way down the list at 90% capacity. Of course, hockey is the smallest venues of the 4 major sports. A hockey rink is much bigger than a basketball court, so there are less seats available at the same arenas for hockey. - Phillywhiteout
I also think hockey fans are generally more loyal to their teams regardless of wins or losses. |

Weird… why is it so calm on the boards lately? Someone has been missing I see |

The owner is a shady crook. Has been for 35 plus years. Nice guy mind you. He is all about the $$$. that's why shocked not even 10 bucks or so.
Back in the day he used to charge 20 bucks all you can eat and drink first Friday of the NCAA bball tourney, on levick street. Sweet ass deal as was always a fun day. A junkies dream. Had it at the blvd location for a few years as well. Not sure what they do now.

I liked your unedited version better.
"Better job of speaking in cliches" ... 'splitting atoms' is a cliche, and if you did indeed do a better job of '"speaking in", your phone would probably transliterate better... - PT21

Well, they really haven't been a Flyers type team for at least a decade now! They were one of the softest teams in the league when the faces of the franchise were Giroux and Voracek. - Phillywhiteout
Two players who were not soft in the slightest. Just ask Crosby and Boychuk.

Team president Keith Jones confirmed that Wednesday that Sean Couturier and Cam Atkinson will be ready and healthy for Philadelphia Flyers training camp. So that's that. I fully expect they will significantly increase the goal production of the forward group this season.

I wouldn't say he was lazy at all. I just think it seemed like he was always looking backwards instead of forward.
In some ways it was and is a microcosm of this whole organization to this day. Always looking to the past and calling it "Flyers Hockey". Big, tough, grinder type players who had some skill...but who won with determination and grit.
But now, yes, there are plenty of players like that on every team, the difference is their players also have lots of skill. - MBFlyerfan
I was thinking specifically about the time he forgot Giroux's name at the draft, that was a really bad look for him. It's almost like he got off the plane from Florida and was handed some notes and then lost the notes before we went up there. |

Not the first or last time that has happened. It just happened to Carey Price at this year's draft when they drafted Reinbacher.

Easily. With that defense they will have a lot of trouble exiting their own zone.

Why? 2 guys coming off injuries and a long layoff.
Also you removed Hayes and JVR. So may get a slight uptick. Nothing significant. Also may be worse if they starts off slow or hit a wall at some point. Which is very likely.

And does anyone believe Coots back isn't going to act up at some point. He was declared healthy before last season started.

They scored 2.68 goals per game last season, which was actually their 6th highest in the last decade.
