So essentially the hope for this kid is he’ll learn how to skate better so he can take the next steps up. His production seems fine though which is a plus.

I just towed a DC-3 down the taxiway.

Not many people can say they’ve done that.

Not many alive, anyways..

I'm still having trouble wrapping my head around the idea that a 25 year old with 14 career AHL points wasn't last on this list.

The Leafs traditionally go to Europe in the later rounds because of the longer development window and have had good luck in drafting the likes of Andreas Johnsson, Pierre Engvall, Carl Gunnarsson, and Pontus Holmberg.

None of these guys are from the same league as this guy....

Apparently 164 of all variants (civilian and military) built are still flown regularly.

I have a link, but can’t get it to post for whatever reason.

We have 3. They’re Baslers, turbo conversions.

A couple other companies have them in Canada, probably no more than 8 or so flying. We have one that supposedly flew in operation market garden, and another one that was an old CIA spy plane.

Nope.

I think enterprise has a couple, and I think they’re based out of Kingston. But they’re here working for us.

Other countries still fly DC-3’s in places like S.America. Buffalo has some radials, and probably some other outfits in the north.

Cool stuff. Must be great to see up close.

I saw one at The Museum of Flight in Seattle, but it was hanging from the ceiling. That’s a must see museum if you haven’t been, are in the area, and are even remotely interested in aviation. You get to go on Reagan’s era Air Force 1, a Concorde, the first ever built 747, lots of stuff. I didn’t want to leave

Yeah that would be pretty neat for sure.

I’m not an airplane enthusiast, but seeing some the planes that come through here is pretty awesome. Lots of water bombers here, there’s a dash 7 working for us rn (only 7 remaining) wasaya has hawkers.

I'm like 85% sure I was in one of those . . .but it was back in around '97. I was flying to Moncton with a co-worker (and friend) and we had a changeover in . . .I think Digby, maybe (it was forever ago). When we got off on the tarmac, we looked across at the plane we were to board and my buddy is like, "I'm not getting on that thing! It's a goddamned death trap!" Similarly, I'd never been on a prop plane before. It was likely either a DC-3 or DC-5 - just looking at the outside and the seating capacity of around 20.

Ah ok. Nice.
I thought they were the people who tow the planes.

Edit: maybe the pushback is the vehicle that tows the plane?

Lol. Yea idk if anyone does passengers on one out east. We certainly don’t. We have a bunch of PC-12’s for that.

They’re pretty safe tho. The captains know their poop. They fly low and slow.
