Pens fans must be a dumbass lot!! They spend day after day pining for EK! Why the hell do they even want him. Their window is shut and he doesn't make them a contender in any way whatsoever. Yeah, give up more prospects and draft picks when you already have the worst minor league system in the league next to the Brooooooins. Glad to see these teams falling off a cliff! The Flyers are building a good young base of forwards, but man do they need to draft some defenders in next year's draft!

Don't say this too loud, otherwise people on here will lecture you on how this is a horrible lineup that will lose every game and score even less goals than last year. When the facts are very different. I feel good about my prediction of 225 goals from this forward group this season .. we'll see how it plays out. I could get 70+ goals right out of the gate from TK and Tippet.

This sounds like a positive Flyers post. You are on the wrong board, the board is for bashing the flyers, the players and the people who run the organization.

Is being a Ricci suppose to be a bad thing? He had a pretty decent career, even though most was on other teams.

Or is Ricci bad because the shadow of Jagr?

- Glak18

For a 4th overall pick?

And no, because Jagr, Brodeur, Keith Tkachuk and Derain Hatcher came after him.

Ricci had a 1,099 game NHL career. Six seasons with 20+ goals including a 30-goal year. A Selle finalist season, three seasons in Selke top 4. Most Drafts, that's a fine result from a top end pick. 1990 wasn't one of those years. But Ricci was a damn good player.

For a 4th overall pick? Respect the player all you want but you don’t get drafted high based on respect. Does this team currently need a player to help carry the offense or a guy we can all respect?

Seems to be a defensemen heavy draft from the experts, also would be nice to get a natural center. Not a winger, that they hope could convert to center.

They need both. How much has Couturier been missed this past season and a half? A ton. How much do they need a truly top-tier offensive player, too? A ton.

funny. alot of people had the opposite reaction to cutter and cates moving to c.
- Peter Richards

That's because MM is a strong playmaker, has elite hockey sense and is dangerous all over the offensive zone.

Cutter and Cates, not so much.
