You’re both right. I read it and processed it wrong. This “shady” trade worked in the Flyers favor, so when I read his original post, all I heard in my head was the usual female doging. - SuperSchennBros

Torts wasnt hired because he is a brilliant tactical coach. He was hired because the genius in charge felt the problem with the team was a lack of effort and not talent. Torts was hired to change the culture in the room; to bring back “Flyers hockey”. 🙄
I think the hope of the current management triumvirate is that he’ll at least get the team playing with some aggression so the fans have something entertaining to watch while they rebuild and that it doesn’t really matter too much, right now, anyway since they just don’t have a good roster. - Dkos
His system and style of play is a lack of aggression. I don't find turtle hockey entertaining. Culture is the most overused term in sports. It's about talent and skill. When that is injected into a modern system and style of play, "culture" takes care of itself.

Did I misunderstand what you were accusing me of yesterday? I’m asking where Michkov was yesterday. Direct response from Pettyfather over here. “He’s on the ice, playing on the power play right now, idiot.” As if I’m watching this game from work with a big screen TV and Michkov’s back is always facing the camera so I can see his name and number.
Way to choose your battles, bud. It only took one other person to tell you they were having the same issue, just for you to shut up.

He’s not wrong but in my opinion this is spoken either with ignorance, stubbornness or both. Sure the average fan can put up his feet on his lazy boy recliner and tell the rest of us what it takes to win but hits, blocked shots are still a stat. It still means something on the bench when a player blocks a shot and still stays out there on one leg. Selling this short is nonsense. |

It was really cringey to see so many Flyer fans falling over themselves to mock the Pens for acquiring a 100 point defenseman for basically the cost of a 1st round pick while ridding themselves of the ghastly Granlund contract Hextall just traded for. Pittsburgh may not be true contenders, but barring major injuries they're a lock to be back in the playoffs for the 17th time in 19 seasons since the 2005 lockout, and they're definitely going to be fun for their fans to watch. Unlike the sad sack Flyers who will be looking at another bottom 10 finish and possibly a 3rd straight year with the NHL's worst powerplay. - Feanor Why was it cringy? Flyers fans hate the Pens and that's not a secret. Karlsson was not all that good the previous few years in San Jose. He had a great year last year, but that hasn't been the norm. I disagree that the Pens are a lock to make the playoffs too! Cindy and Igor played all 82 games last year and they still missed the playoffs, and yes, injuries could be their undoing. The move made sense for them cause they might as well go down swinging until their stars age out and they REALLY suck, but I'm still gonna bust their chops when they act like their status in the league has improved dramatically cause I hate them. Perhaps you can go root for them if you are so impressed? Hell, I'm already on record as saying that I will become a Pens fan if the Flyers ever hire Lappy as their head coach. |

Lorenzon throws a no-hitter for the Phils. - MJL The Florida Panthers made it to the Finals this past season. How many stars/elite players were on their roster? Inquiring minds want to know.

Step the plate. How many do you think they had? - MJL You're the one that says a team needs 4-5 elite players/stars to be true contenders. Florida has two and maybe three if you include Bob. He played very well in this years playoffs, but was he really considered a star/elite before this year's playoffs? I'd say NO! He was considered a way overpaid goalie that the Panthers wanted to unload. My points are so easy to make when you're wrong, but you are the king of spin doctoring! Congrats on that and thanks!

Oh sweet Jesus. If Bob isn’t considered an elite player at his position with two vezinas and now a Stanley Cup Final appearance under his belt, who are the other or only two elite players for the Panthers in your eyes? |

It won’t take long. - SuperSchennBros You keep talking about me digging myself deeper and deeper. This is why I call you goof ball. I mean, what the hell are you even talking about? Isn't it obvious? I'll give you a hint. One is a forward and one is a defenseman. That's all folks!

So one is Aaron Ekblad. So I’m gonna assume you mean the other to be Matthew Tkachuk coming off back to back 100 point seasons.
So you couldn’t possibly be forgetting current Captain, former Selke winner and former lady byng winner Aleksander Barkov, could you? Barkov has 460 points in 412 games since the 2017-18 season.
Tkachuk or Barkov, which is it? You only said there is one elite forward for the Panthers.
Hopefully I’m making sense here |

Nah, he’s still with the Yankees. But Massimo could score some goals for the Flyers if his skating improves. Or am I confused? Is he a big city guy who runs some efficient operations that may not be a 100% on the level? |

Hopefully I’m making sense here - SuperSchennBros Tkachuck is the guy I was referring to. He was the leader of this team. Barkov may be an all-star, but he's not elite. Especially come playoff time. And yes, Ekblad was the other. Thanks! |
