That's brutal when a kid dies. Hate to hear that. RIP

Thanks. What do the (3) numbers refer to? Tiers in earlier rankings? - Revco38
Maybe projections of 1st, 2nd, 3rd line for forwards and 1st, 2nd, 3rd defense pairing. |

Thanks. It looks to be positional ranks (ie, 3rd ranked RHD, etc)

The Devils are inquiring about Quinn Hughes? I would love to see NJ trade for him. Just one question who's going to play defense for NJ? Sieganthaler and Marino are going to be your best defenseman in their own end? |

The Devils will always have the puck, they won't need to worry about defense. |

Big difference from 2019 - BetweenTheDots
Assuming KD is around that long, and nothing changes in their plans, it will be interesting to see in 5-10 years what kind of impact all these new analytical tools have on rate of player development, player selection, even coaching strategy.

Is anyone else under-the-radar hoping that PIT does well this year? I normally can't stand them, but I think it would be entertaining as hell (and rather good for the league) to see the "one more kick at the can" strategy pay off for them with the talent they've acquired. As long as they are able to stay healthy (admittedly a big if), the amount of on-ice experience, Hockey IQ and talent should be very fun to watch.
The main difference between Toews, Kane, Keith, Seabrook, and Malkin, Crosby, Letang, Karlsson is obviously health and production. All our guys got injured or notably slowed down. Theirs are still getting after it. |

Don't know if "rooting" is the right terms, but interested. Just think, one Buddy Robinson goal took Pittsburgh out and put Florida in the playoffs, and we saw how far Florida got. How different one goal made the narrative for both teams coming into this year.

What Mo said. Am looking forward to their slide backwards as a result of ignoring the mistakes of the Hawks and Wings by extending the Cup window just a tad too long. |

Sure, why not? Along with PIT, I also hope for CAR, NJ, NYR, TOR, BOS and two of FLA, BUF, OTT, NYI, or DET make the playoffs out of the East at the expense of Tampa Bay. As long as they don't win the lottery and move up 10 spots, Hawks could be selecting around 15 or 16 with the TB pick. |

I could see the Pens making it this season. Would definitely like to see OTT and BUF join the party.
BOS looks pretty thin up the middle with both Bergeron and Krejci retiring. |

Agree with you about some new teams joining the playoffs. True about BOS. They could be a bubble team. I forgot to add WSH to the mix, but to me they are another bubble team. CBJ, PHI and MON are the only bottom dwellers in the East. Everyone else has a chance. They all have to get off to a good start and stay away from injuries.

I'll believe Ottawa is good when I see it. They have been getting more press and accolades recently, but they never seem to be able to put it together. They have several nice pieces, but it never seems to mesh. Goaltending? Injuries?
The west will be interesting as well:
What will the Knights look like after losing some pieces?
Can COL get back to being their dominant selves without Landeskog?
Can Dallas keep it going?
Is EDM FINALLY gong to be able to compete for a cup? |

Nice deal for both teams and gives Red Wings more snarl and backup for their young defense. |

Hey I need three of you to play Yahoo Fantasy hockey with me as we now have three openings. It is a 9 forward (3 C's, 6 wings any side), 4 defense, two goalie min. league that has HITs, blocks along with the usual stats.
Private message me if you are interested. |

I've been having an ongoing conversation with a Rangers fan friend of mine. Overall, he's happy with what the team has done (save for the trade for Kane), but we had a long conversation about luck.
The Rangers tore down and got back to back 2nd and 1st overall picks and came away with Kakko and Lafreniere. Obviously, we have to wait to see what picks like Bedard, KK, Nazar, and Moore turn into, but simply by lucking into the first pick at the right time, the Hawks seem to be set up much better than NYR. |

Looks like the gm from the Habs is trying to do what KD is doing. He's really not as good at it.
What is Stevie doing? |
