Our boy MM was MVP of the KHL 3v3 mini tournament:
- Tomahawk
I’m probably excited for both Michkov and Gauthier equally but both for different reasons. The problem is, I’d probably be more excited about Michkov if I saw more highlights of his ability to make plays. What’s becoming more and more alarming for me is, both Gauthier and Michkov are “trying” center. I really want these guys to be who they are without “trying” too much that might takeaway from their natural game. Seeing Gauthier first hand, he’s not creative enough offensively to play center in my opinion. You’re not gonna see much, if at all, playmaking. I also don’t think he does enough defensively to justify being a center. Based on what little I’ve seen of Michkov outside of highlights, he looks like a guy you just want to allow to do his thing offensively. Just let his natural skill take over.

A natural center. Wouldn’t that be unique? May I introduce Oliver Bonk.
Both players played well. Frost though is the better all-around player in my opinion. Tippett relies too much on one on one plays and is weaker away from the puck. Frost is a more well rounded offensive player and better away from the puck. - MJL
Better than relying on your line mates to be good…

Will this make them the oldest team in NHL history? Do they now get the senior discount? - Dkos
If there is any truth to this rumor, wouldn’t this be a “cringey” move? Are Flyer fans not allowed to look at this and think it’s stupid? Because it is.
Old time hockey. Bring on Boston’s street thug enforcer Joseph “No Name” Nardone to pair up with Frank for some epic brawls. - Minnyhock
Lol that reminds me...where has Joe been? I was away for a week but tried to keep up with the pleasantries on here. That said, don't recall seeing posts from Joe, which I always enjoy. Hope all is well with him.
Jagr set to sign with the Penguins. Trading for Erik Karlsson and signing Jagr definitely makes them a lock for the playoffs. - SuperSchennBros
That's crazy if it happens. I'm a softy when it comes to vets so will be intrigued to see Jagr play. I'm sure he is still in great shape, but no way he can keep up with current NHL. He showed his age in playoffs when we had him over 10 years ago.

Yeah, he seems like a ‘wind him up and let him go’ kinda guy.
That 3rd goal was a beaut, but what the hell was #4 doing on that play? Oley, as the bull goes right around you? Dude should have had a red blanket instead of a hockey stick. It's like he got out of the way instead of staying strong on the puck and taking the body. If Chuckles was still around he'd sign #4 to a 8 year deal with a NMC!!

Exactly! I honestly thought he was cooked when the Flyers let him move on. This is just another example of a fan pleaser. The reality is that management was having trouble selling tickets and they needed something to sell. First the Karlsson trade and now this. This is more for the fans than the run at another Cup cause that window is shut! Just wait until they really suck in a few years. That place will be a ghost town and they'll threaten to move again.
So, I just found out that the "Q" has officially banned fighting. Seems as if it's only a matter of time until the same thing happens at the NHL level. That will be sure to stir up a hornets nest! If it was up to Buttman he probably would have already banned it, but the old guard is probably fighting (no pun intended) back on that one. Just ask the truculent one (Brian Burke). Oh, and thanks!

Lol Chuckles the Clown will live on forever in our hearts!

Yes, I've said it before that I was impressed how he played for us during the regular season, but ran out of gas in the playoffs. I'm sure he will sell tickets if he ends up playing but I can't see this working out.

Sure fighting is way down, but if it ever gets banned in the NHL, I'm done watching. It's part of the game and it is what makes hockey more unique than other sports. I still miss the days when teams hated each other. I remember scheduling my week around Flyers/Pens games....didn't want to miss one minute.

You won’t be missed because the increase in fans would outweigh the few fans that left. Banning meanings that a player fighting is automatically kicked out of a game and ‘may’ have a suspension. Fighting is banned in football, baseball, basketball, etc… yet you still see an occasional fight. I would argue it actually makes a fight more exciting. All of the things that fighting is supposed to do (police, rev up the team, get the fans into it, etc) will be replaced with other aspects of the game. Will it cause more cheap shots? Maybe, so other aspects will need to change- such as higher consequences for violent acts. To the statements by fighters that it’s how they got in the league and its not fair we won’t see folks like them- we will now see players make it over these guys that have put in just as much time and effort, but are more skilled. IMHO, the product will remain excellent, maybe even better.

To me fighting is entertaining. If it is two willing combatants why would the league want to outlaw that? I do not believe people who do not watch hockey do it because the NHL allows fighting. They don't watch because they don't like the sport. That would be like not watching the NBA because you do not like flagrant fouls.
