Tokarski is at least a viable option, if anything goes off the rails. You know there's never much available on the goalie market that early in the season. - Lunaion
The not much being available is where I was going.
They could hit the point where they need and want to make a move in goal during the season, but it may be too late by the time it materializes. |

35 games gets into january right? I think 2 or 3 goalies usually move each year around that time.
Side note, there was a ton of activity in 2019 from january to march. Looks like what you'd want from an off season. |

Interesting, this is the 3rd Article today I read about the Bills. All 3 seem to think the Bills could have a problem. Guess what I saw at TC wasn't just a bad 4 days. - Buff36
I gotta say on the Bills radio broadcast they were talking about Barkley looking better. At Camp and definitely in the game. He's been here a long time. Honestly, at the TC practice I was at, I told my brother that I think the Bills are set up well at backup QB and felt good about Kyle Allen because he has NFL game experience and has played good in some of those games. It's a perfect room for them. They typically keep 3 any way right? |

I hope he does and he is just getting used to the Offense. I just want to see better from him because when I have seen him he hasn't exactly shined. Allen is tough as Nails and don't want anything to happen to him. But I don't want to get F@cked either by a guy who can't throw a screen pass. If I remember correctly he almost threw one at the Scrimmage at Highmark last week. Maybe I shouldn't worry about it this early in preseason but this is the time to get it right though. |

ASSOCIATED PRESS: Stephen Whyno recently listed some notable storylines to watch during the final weeks of the 2023 NHL offseason.
While Patrick Kane continues to rehab from his June 1 hip resurfacing procedure, there are rumors linking the 34-year-old free-agent winger to his hometown Buffalo Sabres. They’re a young club on the rise that could use a player with his Stanley Cup experience.
SPECTOR’S NOTE: It was reported last month that Kane’s agent indicated his client should be ready to return to action in December. By that point, the future Hall of Famer will evaluate the clubs that are interested in him and pick the one he believes has the best chance of winning the Stanley Cup this season.
The Sabres could be one of those teams if they finally achieve their long-anticipated breakthrough as a playoff club. However, much will depend on what their needs will be by that point. Goaltending remains a big question mark as is their blueline depth despite the offseason additions of Erik Johnson and Connor Clifton. |

One of the best parts of working there, ages ago, was the Sabres and Bills that would come in. |

The Sabres aren't really $6M under the cap.
That number is a mirage. |

Plan on about 3m in bonuses and leave a 2m injury cushion, suddenly you're at 1m.
Hard to imagine them pushing the 'compete' button and being aggressive with the cap and walking into a hit next year.

Recent interview with Tatar. Article cites he’s turned down multiple FA offers
"A lot of people asked me two years ago why I was going to the Devils. We made a lot of progress during the season. The NHL is such a balanced competition that the details really decide in it. The potential in the team was there, I saw that it could be something special and it turned out to be the right move in the end.
The situation is somewhat different now. I'm a bit older. We'll see, I'm trying to be very careful in my selection, because I want to achieve something in the NHL, winning the Stanley Cup would be wonderful. I try to think about many things when choosing a club and I hope that we will put it together as soon as possible,"
The last two days it has really moved after being stagnant for a while. I communicated directly with the coaches of the teams I could go to, what my role would be on the team. But I don't want to promise when it will be finally resolved.
The situation with the salary cap is not easy, I'm sorry that I was the one who jumped on it. But I won't complain about it. I may have to wait longer for some teams because of the changes they will have to make to make room for me. But I'm already pushing it so that it happens as soon as possible."
"It's been more teams since the beginning. There were many interested parties, which reassured me. The problem was more in the agreement. Whether it was about the length of the contract or the amount, we always fought with someone. The last few days I put some things aside and tried to look at teams where I would feel the best and it would make the most sense. Maybe that's why it moved in the right direction."
"I wanted at least two years again. Even if something didn't work the first year, it could then start to get better in the second year, just like it did with the Devils. If I had left there after the first year, I would have been disappointed, but I stayed a year longer and today I say with a smile that the Devils as an organization are definitely among the good ones.
I gained great leadership experience there and I will remember it fondly. That's why I'm trying to be very careful and today it's headed for a one-year contract because of the salary cap space."

You're right about planning on $3M as that's just about the full bonus for Power and Levi as a tandem.
That's not counting the $1.2M in combined bonuses between Quinn and Krebs. |
