That's not even the best quote:
"No one on the team had worse luck in the defensive zone, but Bryson is still an exceptional player who can excel at breaking the puck out of his end of the ice. He’s been slow to progress in his defensive game, though, and remains a liability in front of his own net. At 5-foot-9, Bryson must be sharper in his attention to detail than someone with a longer reach or more strength. He has enough upside that teams lacking blue-line depth would be interested for the right price." - Hank Balling
That writer can't even look at themselves in the mirror seriously after that gem. |

"Adams and Granato are much higher on Jokiharju than the fan base, though. He’s performed well at times in a top-four role and there’s confidence within the organization that he’s yet to play his best hockey.
"This might be Jokiharju’s last opportunity to carve out a long-term role in Buffalo. He’s still needed on the Sabres’ roster because he, unlike others on this list, can skate more than 20 minutes per game next to Dahlin or Owen Power."

Leafs have been more stacked for the last 7 years than Vegas has over the same time.
They've had the goalies, they've always had the forwards, they've mixed the D up. Nothing works when your top players cant show up when the games mean the most. 26 shots against Florida, 0 goals.
March or Eichel could have won that Conn Smyth, they gave it to the guy with the goals. Not the guy who set him up for tap-ins. It is what it is.
I'd of taken Eichel before the neck, and after his dominant playoffs ill take him now as well. - DirtyDan
You can take him, the rest of the league takes AM. Sorry it's not particularly close. And Vegas made the Conference Finals (twice?) and the SCF twice in 6 seasons. I'd say they were set up to win.
In my opinion, that cup should have a price tag etched into the side along with the names of the individuals who won it as I think the players mattered about as much as the money invested. From the expansion rules to cap circumvention, that cup wasn't won, it was acquired. |

If AM doesn't sign in Toronto, we will find out how the league values him.
To say it's not close is disingenuous as Eichel thrived in the playoffs vs Mathews disappears.
The regular season only has so much value, see Huberdeau as an example.
As of today, I would take Eichel due to cap hit, and playoff performance, and that's not close.

We have 27 Defenseman signed just because 24 of them are 6/7 still gives us a 7% chance of finding a replacement. |
