I don't think anyone is sure if he's a 2C or 3LW. Makes it really hard. With all these kids coming, how does this all fit together?
I know they like him, but something has to give soon. - Lunaion
I think he'll either play himself off the team, or price himself out. Even if he's a 2C, he can't be one here. I like him on the wing. Im just not sure I see a long term fit. |

Genuinely out here hoping for the performance bonuses to eat our cap. - Michael Ghofrani
Power will be getting all $1.85M of his performance bonuses after this coming season is over. |

Option C being they give him the Olofsson special and give him a 2 year deal which walks him to UFA and treats him as an “own rental” in which they didn’t have to move assets to acquire.

Tage, Cozens, Skinner, Tuch, Quinn, Peterka, Greenway are all accounted for.
Barring something drastic, Krebs’ raise from his ELC will be roughly $1-1.5M ? Even if Mitts brings the roof down, his raise from his current salary is really what $3M ? That’s if Mittelstadt and Krebs aren’t dealt to begin with.
That leaves you two forward spots which will inevitably be filled by any of the combination of Benson, Savoie, Kulich, Rosen, Rousek.
Dahlin gets a $4M raise, Samuelsson, Power, Clifton are already accounted for. Joker is the only RFA worth a poop and I can’t imagine him getting too much of a raise if he’s even here to begin with.
2024/2025 is when it gets interesting with Power, Quinn, Peterka in line to get paid. - Swedish_Jesus
Pay Mitts, Power, Dahlin 25m combined and you'd be at 66m for 12 players. Average 1.5m for the remaining 11 at you're at 82.5 on an estimated 87m cap.
I know it's napkin math, but one significant addition in the next year and you're flirting with the cap.
You're certainly right though. Quinn, Peterka, Levi, Johnson the following summer. Won't include Power. If they bridge, 1 year would be an odd move.

That doesn't solve the glut in the lineup though. I can't imagine theyre going to walk anyone to UFA anymore (anyone they think is good).
If he's got enough trade value to land a d-man, goalie or better forward, it's likely going in that direction. |

RIP to the legend.
It’s a shame he never got to call a Cup winner. |

Is he mixing years when he says 24-25 when he means 25-26?
Also don't understand why he had Power with Quinn and Peterka. |

All good, just puts all the focus on Mitts. Is he the right long term fit for this team and their cap? No easy answer.

Ahh yes, 2 year ELC instead of the 3 year.
Oversight on my part.
So 2024/2025 does have an interesting wrinkle to it, but nonetheless is still manageable.
It means Greenway/Mitts/Krebs seats are red hot then.
Makes getting Cozens and Tage signed to the deals they did even that much more significant |

Because he has a 2 year ELC and will need a new deal that summer. I just looked at the significant RFA's that summer, no more thought than that.
