Just read that EP40 may be holding off signing his next contract until he see's what Matthews gets. |

Seems like a smart move on his part. Thankfully Petey's an RFA and Matthews is a UFA.
I'm sure the Canucks will try everything to get him signed before that, though. |

Ya it seems like both players agents would like to see the others contract, just smart business nothing to worry about IMO.

There was an Athletic article about Petey's contract where Dayal talked to three agents about the possibilities... good read if you haven't read it yet, touches briefly on the Matthews thing:

Is Petry deal to Detroit a decent comparable for Myers?
Petry little better, he is a couple years older and has an extra year left on his contract. A 2025 4th round pick and a younger but depth defender.
If someone comes offering a 3rd round pick, I would hope they take it. |

I think they will make moves before they start the season. But moving Myers is not one of them. At least not until the TDL. They don’t have RSD that are ready to play. They need time. Even a trade to get a bottom/depth RSD they would still hang on to Myers in the interim. |

Someone offers anything without salary retention they should take it.
Petry still useful if even just for his shot. Myers is not.

Thank you, about the Athletic I went to cancel the $79. subscription and they came back with $21. to stay on another year.
Now regarding Pettersson I hope he isn't just thinking about most dollars in his pockets as possible. If so he will never play for a SC team, same as Matthews, they need to think of the overall team.

The next move the Canucks probably make is trying to scoop up a back up goalie. Someone maybe that might hit waivers and take advantage on low ball trade offer. |

Ya, that's what I typically do too. They send sweet offers after you cancel. I assume you signed back up?
I hope Petey prioritizes playing for a contender... but that also means the Canucks would have to be contenders, which is doubtful lol |

Yeah for the $21 there are good articles, I mainly follow the Seahawks and Newcastle United, never been a big Drance fan.
Canucks will be in the playoffs this coming season, then anything can happen, |

Ya their NFL and EPL writers are solid. NHL are generally good too. MSD is a really great writer, and they have so much on Arsenal so I'm happy with that
I think they're be a solid bubble team this year – depends how much Tocchet can get out of them, coaching staff the biggest X factor. |

He might be, I get the 2 mixed up. It must be terrifying for those folks and folks anywhere facing these fires. |
