It happens. People that are capable move forward with their hobbies. One's incappable don't progress. That's why you are a goalie who needs someone to tie his skates because you only know one knot.

The good news, fish have no preference in knots. The bad news, you haven't seemed to figure that one out yet.

Young Stars a month away.
Can't imagine most of the Euro prospects will be there as they are already playing pre season games.
Do 23 years olds like McDonough and Woo count as "young stars" still? |

College guys out as well. McDonough is on the list as a rookie pro. Maybe Klimovich and a few more young guys too.

You are not smart enough to figure out it's not about what the fish prefer. You don't see forwards using a goalie stick do you? But a stick is a stick right?

The rules prohibit what you're suggesting so your argument is not relevant. Fishing rules don't prohibit me from picking up any type of rod.
Ever fish a fly rod on a really windy day? Your tool is flawed. Almost useless to me, because I like fishing in all conditions.
I mean, I've caught over 20 Salmon from shore over the last 2 weeks. I must be doing something right. But who knows, I might get really suicidal one day and want to bore myself to death on the end of a fly rod. That's only if I completely lose the will to live or my mental faculties though. |

So you think forwards would be using goalie sticks if it were not for regulations. Interesting.... and very revealing. Also, I never said professional hockey governed by regulations only.
Yes, I've fly fished too many times to count on very windy days... literally weeks at a time of very windy days. Like why people use different knots for different applications, there are rod types, positioning against the wind both with body and or boat, and effort to combat wind. You are extremely single minded and you prove it over and over. You are a shore fishermen... so of course you think the wind only blows in your face. On lakes it is were ever you position your boat and drop anchor... which instantly puts the wind on your back. On rivers wind blows up or down stream so you can pick a side that you can wade out, angle yourself with a quartering wind and let it carry your fly line. You would never consider any of this because you are a one trick pony.
I've always accepted that your knot you rely on for the type of fishing you do is just fine. On the other hand, you've never accepted that with the hundreds of other scenarios like type of fishing, type of bait/lure/fly/plug etc etc etc.... there is specific knots that are best.... but you've always ignorantly dismissed this. Only a extremely arrogant and limited skill fishermen would do this.... so there you have it.

I'd probably be more accepting if fly fishing wasn't such a joke. And yes. If a player could use a stick with a blade the size of a Goalie stick, yes they'd be using it. More surface area makes it easier to tip pucks. Probably why they made a rule against it huh? It's not surprising this logic escapes you....typical for a fly fisherman. |

I said " forwards" because I figured maybe a big plug defensemen may use a goalie stick because the most he is ever going to do is block and clear pucks but no sane forward would ever choose a goalie stick(and even a D would be laughable). You have lost it.

Um, I said tipping pucks. Defencemen aren't the only players on the ice that are looking to tip pucks. There are sane forwards that make a living doing so. If you honestly think some forwards wouldn't use a stick the size of a Goalie stick if they could, well, again, what is the point of the rule? |

No, I don't think a forward would use a goalie stick. Yes, there is a rule that wouldn't allow it.... but how many goalies in the NHL wouldn't wear a mask presently? Just because there is a rule doesn't mean players intend to do it if no one stops them.
There's also a rule that you have to wear ice skates... thank god for that rule or we would have players out there in running shoes flopping around.... |

The search for a good back up goalie? The search to add a RSD to play with QH?
You know scour the rosters of other teams and try to find the hidden gem that can get pickpocketed. The type where there is a logjam on that team roster or player prospect is no longer waiver exempt. Any ideas? |

Seen this is as a possible line up for the Habs this season.
I am not sure why some think they are going to compete for a playoff spots with that line up. They may have got worse. |

They need about as many bounceback seasons as the canucks to even come close to playoffs. |
