Aka Turmoil Flames style lol
Only can see it getting worse with the exodus that is coming. - Nighthawk
How so? Nobody’s a UFA this year, we’re not talking next year. Flames don’t have to trade anyone unless it benefits them. It’s really not that complicated. |

While you were in full guzzle, you forgot the part where everyone wants to leave the Flames. What did you get for Gaudreau coming off a 115 point +64 season besides completely reamed by the Oilers? - Load Management
See my post above.
Flames don’t have to trade anyone this year, unless it benefits the team. Regardless of who has said what, as of right now they’re all under contract.
Other Canadian teams are going to feel this exodus of stars. Draisitle has 2 more years left, if the Oilers flounder again this year, what’s to stop him from saying “I won’t extend, so you better trade me now”? PDL did it this year in Winnipeg, don’t be suprised when Petey wants out. Mathew’s in Toronto? It’s going to become common for the Canadian teams and to a lesser degree, teams like Columbus…….
As for the reaming from the Oilers, you’ll never know what that feels like, cause you’re a Canuck fan stuck in perennial 20-27th place finish. This isn’t the first time you’ve used this, try to be better. |

Try something with aloe. It soothes and heals. Might take a few days longer with your particular case of butthurt. |

New GM, new coach, new assistant coaches, Iginla back in the fold, prospects banging on the door, old, slow guys gone, Flames are infamous for having 1 good season followed by a bad, followed by another good season.
At least we got something for Toffoli, that’s a huge improvement over what the Canucks got for him. - K-man25
You know once in a while, even amidst your weak troll attempts that you entertain us with, you make the odd valid point about the Canucks. But then you make a ridiculous homer comment like this that would even make the biggest homer on this board blush, and wonder why everyone mocks you mercilessly for completely embarrassing yourself! |

Right so disgruntled Flames’ players will be killing it in a non contract year. Amazing deductions for success. While the Canucks fixing the worst PK in the league is a sham? They’re goaltending dependent on their back ups again?
I don’t know who will finish 3&4 in the Pacific. However, most likely the Canucks, Flames, Kraken and Kings first half starts will determine who will claim the spots down the road. |

Excellent take. You should post rosters and your predictions for the top 3 in the division. |

Imo take him off the field if it’s that bad. Soccer is a strange sport with all of its fakery & antics. |

On news on the home front we had a decent rain that has washed down the level 11 smoke immensely. Hoping this turns around the extreme wildfire conditions here & elsewhere. There is still not enough rain in the forecast. We could use a large reprieve from more wildfires starting up with firefighters must be pressed to extremes.
Hope all is well to all suffering through these times & everything that has come with it. |

Air quality went from 11/10 the last 2 days to a 3 today. West Kelowna has had major amounts of structure loss so far and they haven’t even got into the worse areas.
Canada needs to invest in more water bombers and firefighters, this is only going to get worse. Maybe our armed forces should be trained in fire fighting, to help out more when needed.
So much for that greenhouse gas tax we’ve been paying in BC. |

Water bombers are a no-brainer. Letting the fleet age out & not replaced or increased is crazy. The sheer volume of water they dump is better than many choppers. When we have have so many lakes for water supply it’s very obvious. |

A very early look ahead to top 2024 prospects. Not much size at all in the offing but the skill seems to be very high. This will definitely incite or induce Reuby into apoplexy. 🤪😂
At least for those who like to track prospects this is helpful. |

It's pretty inept. With great woods comes great responsibility. Controlled burns have been needed for decades and decades but as soon as the wildfire season is over it's not on the radar, save for those impacted that season and those whose job it is to think about these things. I feel bad for the latter group as the funding isn't there to make a proactive difference. Then every few years (lately almost every year) a light gets shone during a bad fire, only to go away again.
Even if they only started doing something 20 years ago (which would have still been too late) they could at least have made some headway in the matchstick of a province. Maybe at least areas closest to populations.

I think Calgary could go either way. It is true the flames bounce back and forth between good and bad seasons. If it goes bad, it could go reaaal bad though.
Regardless, I think there's few teams who shouldn't speak about asset management to the canucks ... and the flames are probably one of them. Signing the Weeger and Huby contracts was a clapback decision by a butthurt GM. Like someone who just got broken up with and went full throttle on the rebound getting married a few months later.
Imagine signing those absurd contracts only to leave months later and be gifted the keys to the holy grail of franchises. Hockey is a crazy world! |

With only looking at the terrain of BC it’s an imposing challenge. The losses for ppl & the resources & the disruption of it all says volumes on why it should’ve always been a priority to be better funded & supported provincially & federally.
There is nothing to suggest wildfires will lessen in years to come while they are increasing as they are. This cannot be dismissed on the hope they’ll rectify on their own. Flash flooding has occurred & to date we are still ill prepared for major disasters. A serious rethink is in order to be proactive & not reactive. |

One suggestion is to be renamed from Carbon Tax into Disaster Preparedness Fund.
It can be designed in such a way that the populous & industry can be hand in hand in this. Investing in ppl & resource management is both prudent & wise. Other areas also need to be further addressed such as TFL’s & more & better reforestation. As for TFL’s it needs to be for domestic needs & consumption 1st & less abroad to Indonesian (China) companies such as Paper Excellence buying up our industry. Global needs come 2nd to BC & Canada. Pulp mill & sawmill shutting downs has a very bad adverse affect on local economies which reach into other well paid jobs that spin off of those industries. I don’t have the answers but the downturn & sell off has had major impacts & much more farther reaching issues. |
