Maybe Bo can install a water 'softener' so he can 'Captain' his new property effectively.

Man, the Lightning have a lot of big contracts. They are going to need some serious cap circumvention to keep all those high end players.

They have had plenty of practice at cooking the books. No problem.

I just saw IMac writing an article about Petey and his contract. I am not sure if it is posturing or not but both sides don't seem to be in any hurry.

I watched an interview maybe a month ago and PA stated there is no hurry and Petey's side saying they want to concentrate on hockey.

I will be honest, I like him, but I won't like his upcoming contracts especially if they are not a contender.

I look at Chicago and see Beddard and next year they have a very good shot at getting Celebrini plus a lot of other high picks and I see Toews and Kane era repeating itself.

They are not the Canucks so they don't need to worry about a recapture penalty for Cap Circumventing.

On Petey wanting to focus on hockey bodes well. Rather a player concentrate on excellence & leave the distractions on the back burner. New big cap increases are coming we all know & one way or another he’ll get paid a big raise. PA knows this & has other roster work to do if he’s on the right track to contention. JTM may have a large hit but it will look better % of the cap wise as cap increases come. Lots of expectation is pinned on RT to lead this group to better team play. If the D is vastly improved like some hope & the wingers play up to potential it’ll be a fun season. That’s asking for a lot of course. Lol

On the Hawks I agree they are repeating the sad sack era then onto a cup contender look. Still plenty of work ahead to emulate the past.

They are also incredible at targeting some of other team's hardest working guys. Hagel, Nick Paul, Jeannot, Sheary ... these guys are buzzsaws and come playoff time it obviously pays off.

Toronto and Matthews are a joke. That kind of money without an 8 year in place?

Looks like he's pushing out his rancho relaxo days in Arizona a few more years. Good for him! Maybe the start of the final nail in the coffin for that franchise though. Hope it's still there when he wants to kick-back!

He’s 31 when it expires. Let someone else pay him in his declining years. Hopefully we don’t give too much term to Petey

Should be quite entertaining in here, when people realize the cap won't be going up next season, due to outside circumstances. Not sure how many times I have heard about the cap going up significantly, yet it barely moves upwards.
Should be another fun season, with all the new top-notch penalty- killers and the Norris calibre defenseman, to go along with the Selke/Hart trophy odds on favourite.
I have found my foam bricks, just in case I decide to watch any games this season.

Go Canucks Go.
