Speaking of Podz I wonder how last years first round choice will pan out in a couple of years? - VANTEL

It is hard to get excited about him but what I read now and then he is getting better at some things. I am not sure but still think he does a lot of floating.

Depends on him to find higher levels to be legit top 6. Also a winger like Boeser is on the clock if he pushes him out. Pod is another story with his style of play aka should be a very good 3rd wheel if he gets there imo. |

I’m thinking Pod hasn’t quite figured it out on what he can be & how he would fit in. Still time but has to take the next steps. This is a big year for him & his future. |

No doubt about how hard he trains. I think once he stops trying so hard he will see the game better. He has good skills, he needs to find a way to put them to better use.

Yeah he needs to learn a 200ft game. That's not a great floor I gave him, but I think he does better than that. He could become a 30G winger easily IMO. |

That is where there is hope. He knows how to score.
He has to learn what to do now without the puck. A Raymond ceiling I can see, right now I see him as a Linus Karlsson 2.0 but am hoping he learns.

Bo was a pending UFA... Petey is a pending RFA. What other options can he explore if the number they have in mind is not met? - boonerbuck

It’s more about being consistent & just play. Has the tools just hasn’t built an identity. Has to be hungrier & take what he wants not just try to fit in. Young still & had the culture barrier but that is only an excuse for so long.Giddyup time |

Hockey IQ for me is players who the game slows down for & see what is developing quickly as well as creating opportunity from nothing. Young players should be quick studies & watch plenty of tape. Hungry to learn not be reactive. |

Kuzmenko
https://canucksarmy.com/n...ko-better-all-around-game
On this I agree mostly but the entire line has to be on the same page & why my line dynamics needs a 3rd wheel to complete this. The best teams have responsible top lines if they are going to succeed. No passengers. Not saying Kuz was one but only here for a year he has more to give he’s not Boeser & skates better. In my books the C of every line is key & dictates & plays 200’ hockey. Miller is getting it or I least hope he has & comes out with a fire under his arse to be better. RT looking for chemistry is not only about scoring it’s playing the right way & all buying in. Scoring will come. This is the crux of the matter to take the steps to being a force & consistency. My line combos I try to balance out looking for 2 good 200’ players. The 3rd wheel being one who is a puck retriever & energy & tenacity. Burrowsesque.
Kuzmenko Petey Beauvillier
Miky Miller Boeser
Hog Suter Garland
Pearson Blueger Dakota
Beau over Hog til Hog fits in & earns 3rd wheel status. Hogs to win. Beau interchangeable as needed.
Boeser the slug has 3rd wheel scorer status. Just cuz his style. Square peg in a round hole needing linemates to pick up the D side. Has to be a 30+ scorer to change this. Agility & skating has to be his mission.
Suter line is smallish but high energy that could see Pearson on it.
Hog Pearson Dakota interchangeable to find the right mix.
Pod 1st call up due to his exempt status or if injury.
Winger logjam is good & bad given the options coaches have. Scoring is there but leaves a lot of questions to the bottom 6 being more dominant 5v5. This & top pair RHD are the biggest holes & the biggest challenge.
Summarizing this TLDR lol the changes on D needs big results. The F’s are a known. In goal is solid. - Nighthawk
Seems all good except every line has the wrong “3rd wheel” inserted to compliment and complete it.
Just for example it’s believed by coaching and past practice that a healthy Mik is best for Kuz and Pete. But I guess you wanted him to cover the slow defensive liability of Boeser on the second line. Plus to mention the smallest line in hockey for a 3rd line won’t cut it in Coach Ts system.

Please explain.
If those are the types of players you want, then expect to be at the bottom forever, as hockey is a game of reactionary plays. |

Elliotte on how much Pettersson's decision to re-sign will depend on the team's success:
"A lot of it, almost all of it..."
Elliotte doesn't believe this is a negotiation tactic from Pettersson's side.
